Fair enough but when you see league games that are won by 7+ goals, it's still pretty decent. My point with LKS is strong enough tbf.

Wont dispute that, they're topping your league for a guess though.

Although on another occasion we had Wymeswold at 1-1 at half time once in the league cup, finshed up 8-1 like but lol

Honestly believe if any decent side worth their salt had their absolute strongest team out they'd put up a decent contest against anyone. Sides losing by 8 or 9 are either on their way out missing players or they've had a heavy night. We've lost to much worse teams then either of the prem sides we've played by bigger margines just purely out of circumstance.

The ressies are effectively the first team so I guess I'll be seeing you sometime soon!

I'm still pretty pissed off that we've had to fold as it's not our fault, but that's life.

Good luck in division two mate not being a twat or anything but if you play like you did last week then it's going to be a tough season. Poor game from both sides didn't help that we didn't have any centre backs!

We know that mate, effectively a new team finding our feet and slowly starting to gel. We'll be helped by the few first teamers that turned up and are staying on, think it's just a case of enjoying It all, staying up and then have a good go next season.

I played division 2 a few seasons back, not being big headed but could perhaps plSy higher too and the same goes for the lads we've got.

It's a team game though, and that's what we need to realise.

Drew 1-1 with Twelve. We should have won easy but didn't take our chances. The ref didn't help either. I scored near the end, looked up and the lino had his flag down so thought we'd snatched a winner, only for the ref to disallow it for offside. The great part about it was I was behind our player when the ball was played in!! What's the point of having a lino if the ref is going to start giving offsides like that!

As you can see from the Alliance Forum, the Talbot lot are a lovely bunch.

What's been said Rob?

We have Prem Sports in the Billy Walton. :/

Charnwood Sunday League can't go on the way it is, no League Table, half hearted committee. It needs to be run by clubs representatives as they are a) football people and b) know where the improvement lies. We are going to lose a lot of teams to respective leagues if it doesn't pick itself up. I for one have had talks with the Alliance League about moving over but been asked to stay in Charnwood. Sad really because the league is home to some good teams and some excellent local footballers. (And no pothunters)

Check the Banter thread for Sunday 11th, literally all crying cos we got a draw against them to maintain our unbeaten start to the season.

We might have been lucky but we had the bare 11 playing, with 6 first team players missing. Very decent result from our perspective.

Whatever the result, and I've played against both teams, no need for them to be whinging on the forum. Absolute jebends talbot the lot of them. Had some good battles against LDA particularly a 6-5 win at mossdale meadows a few years back

Anyone from div 6 know much about Dukla? Do they still have that colored guy who scores for fun? Fred or something?

What position do you play for CSKA?Always had tight games with you lot apart from one 5-0 the other year although I can happily say I was away on holiday that day!!

Dukla were woeful last season. If you play for CSKA first team you should beat them.

I've played right back in all games against you.wear number 19.currently captain and assistant manager of the reserve side so that's who face Dukla.still fancy us to "cause an upset" though.

Last years game against you at uplands was a bit epic on the Friday night.think we won 7-4? Or 6-3? You pulled it back to a one goal deficit and a couple of our lads scored late screamers

They're in our division (Dulka), not played them in the league yet but comfortably beat them pre-season. I reckon you should at least match them no problem. Lack in flair and quality big time.

Who is their best player / biggest threat?

In all fairness they haven't really got one...

I've heard reports about some lad called Cisse though who can score for fun but not seen his name around on the scoring lists.

Posted

He's that lad I was asking about, forgot his name. Seen them play our firsts last year and he wasnt there. Does he even exist? I've a feeling we will beat them, haven't won in a while and I'm in charge tomorrow. Buzzing for it!

Apparently I'm starting on the wing on Saturday, this is my first proper team and I've never really had a position of my own so hoping to make the most of it. Just need that confidence really to take my man on, haven't had it for ages in regards to playing football. Any tips haha?

Get the ball over early, depending on who's up top in your team but aim for what I call the "corridor of uncertainty" in between the defender and goalie.can end up two ways, your strikers flick it on or a defender makes an error and you get a og or at worst a corner.

My favourite cross to put it (when I play RB) is a low whipped curling in ball for strikers to attack but we don't play with big target men for me to aim at there heads.

Also make sure you work back and support your full back. It's just as important as attacking

Posted

Oh yeah, all the basics I'm fine with. It's actually when I'm on the ball where I just sort of freeze haha and try and get rid of the ball. I used to run past people with ease but I think years of not playing has kind of put a stop to that. Like where you should put your body to shield the ball, I've stopped doing that properly, I need to be less worried about getting clipped and just get on with it.

CSKA Carnabys Seconds 5
