SystonFox Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Needs a new thread surely? I'll be happy to play some part at all this season as I make my recovery from my second ACL injury. MRI scan tomorrow at glen field hospital and make a decision from there
Father Ted Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 White Eagles folded so I've joined Oadby Athletic in the LSL, can't wait for the season to get going!
Soar Fox Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Left the Sunday team I was playing for last year. Don't know if I will bother this year or not.

Soar Fox Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Space at Huncote! Might just take you up on that offer mate.
ian1984summer Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 Yes mate thanks for the game, good to give some of the lads a run out we were missing a lot of first team players (I got the impression you had a bit of a switch round yourselves as well) so was good to give some minutes to a few lads and get a game played. League have been atrotious in getting us games recently especially on a Sunday. Played in the right spirit, decent set of lads, play nice football. The lad in question (Simo86 off here incidentally) has broken his leg unfortuantley. They were planning on pinning it but looks like they're gonna see how it goes for a bit. So yeah.....speedy recovery not likely I'd imagine he'll be out till October at least, not even out of hospital yet. More Charnwood Sunday League bumbling on Sunday, as mentioned we were playing AFC Sporting Charnwood in a friendly when a ref turned up out of nowhere to ref our cancelled league game against FC Charnwood they hadn't told him he'd been reassigned . Brilliant, had to hot pedal it off to Mountsorrel at 5 past 10. On top of this I have herd last weeks Griffin vs Hillmoren game ended in a 22 man brawl resulting in no fewer than 5 Hillmoren players being sent off . They've been removed now, so that's another game of football we're gonna have cancelled, and the league is going to finish with 8 teams in it. Only bright side the expunging of their results has given us a much better chance of getting 2nd place. I'd speculate Griffin are probably going to go at the end of the season (if not before) and we're moving leagues so I hope the CSFL have got some interest next season of they could be cutting a division or two out! the griffin were going to go but I stepped in at the 13th hour so we shall be continuing for the 2013/14 season if anyone is looking for friendly's I still need 2 more so drop me a message. cheers.
ian1984summer Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 anyone wanting friendly's drop me a message. the griffin fc, csfl div 3.

Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 Come on then people it's that time of year Where we playing, We do you think you'll finish etc. We got promoted to the Prem and to be honest, I'm proper excited for it!! Got to do a bit of work trying to stay up from the drop, anywhere but bottom will do for me. And would like a nice county cup run against one of the alliance teams. Before we get onto Sundays what the blue **** are Sileby Saints first team doing in the same league as us next year????? :-/ Another season at the Ivanhoe, we have now moved to Burton where despite my best blagging we've been put in Division 3, can live that though, as if we could score penalties or open goals we'd of probably of got promoted to Division 2 in Charnwood with some ease and as it was we were only a point out anyway, and the standard is lower in Burton. So hopefully we can improve on last seasons fourth place at least. Got a few new signings in as well, and we have Foxestalk's very own Finnergan on trial.

goose2010 Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 I play in the Hinckley and District League and are on a bit of a recruitment drive at the minute anyone that is in the area and fancies playing let me know! Decent bunch of lads ranging from about 20 to 33 years old, decent banter and the social side of things is just as good as the football. We play in Div 1 so its a decent ish standard but nothing special! looking for Strikers and wingers really but any positions would be considered!
Finnegan Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 Haha really, I've got to get myself down training to see this. Hopefully I'll be running again soon Haha should be there on Thursday mate, it'd be a pleasure. How's your leg healing?

ian1984summer Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 well the griffin has mainly the same squad as last season with a few choice additions. we are in a league we know with mainly teams we know. i would like to think we will finish 3rd possibly 2nd. however with me and my daft formations and insistence on playing myself up top (only ever played in defence) we may well be relegated by Christmas.

The First team resigned from the Senior League Premier and it's only the old reserve team. Don't you worry yourself!! You want to look out for Sileby WMC in Division 3 If we get you in the cobbin!!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 July 2013 Posted 10 July 2013 no mate, he kind of went awol middle of last season. he does that. That's how he ended up joining you, by leaving swannington half way through! Our manager was a bell end though
