marty78 Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 He does come out with some ridiculous things, there was one recently comparing McDonalds to something or other too. However, he's still one of the best frontmen and lyricists of all time. And he's hardly always desperate for attention is he? How often do you see him spouting bollocks on chat shows like most? But yes, he can be quite the tit at times Yeah it was something about that Norwegian mass murder by Anders Breivik which he says is not as bad as what McDonalds and KFC do every day.
Zingari Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Yeah it was something about that Norwegian mass murder by Anders Breveik which he says is not as bad as what McDonalds and KFC do every day. Blimey , if this is the case , he's sounding more like a bigger twat than I gave him credit for .
Bellend Sebastian Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Don't forget the one about a Meatball Marinara being like a recent Chinese train crash, but much, much worse
21st Century Fox Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 He also once compared 9/11 to Pepperami manufacturing.

David Guiza Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 That's the one, naming an album 'Meat is Murder' just didn't seem to be enough to get his message over. Those clearly aren't his best lyrics, who would you say is a better lyricisst?
Houdini Logic Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Love how he slams the royals for jumping on the event while using the coverage himself to try and remind the few people who still actually care that he is in fact still alive...
purpleronnie Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 well here we are talking about it...so i guess he wins.
Parafox Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Can't abide the man or his woeful dour songs, but I have to say, on the olympic coverage, he has a point. I did find some of the sycophantic, fawning commentaries a bit too much to bear, particularly from that supercilious nobody that is Claire Balding

Parafox Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 then I guess you havent listened to many. No I haven't but with a few exceptions I find them depressing. I do realise they are meant to be social commentaries in some cases and a reflection of his mood at the injustice he sees and some are quite lively and positive. But generally, I'm not a fan, sorry. In any case I was referring to the songs of his that ARE woeful and dour.
Houdini Logic Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 well here we are talking about it...so i guess he wins. When the vast majority of people are saying 'I wish that moaning ballsack would **** off', I wouldn't exactly call that winning...
purpleronnie Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 When the vast majority of people are saying 'I wish that moaning ballsack would **** off', I wouldn't exactly call that winning... He would love it...the last thing morrissey would want is everyone agreeing or liking him..if he cared about that then he wouldnt realease the albums he does or say the things he does.....just the way he is and has been since he first became 'famous'.
Guest MattP Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Didn't really just how much of a penis he was until I read his Wikipedia page. Seems to say things for attention and controversy to get people to dislike him. A real life Internet troll.
MooseBreath Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Where's FIF? Only a couple of weeks ago she was describing the build up to the Olympics as "sickening". Look's like she's found a soul mate in morrissey.

MooseBreath Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 To be fair I knew nothing of this chap before this thread and the more I read about him, the more he looks every bit like the left wing superhero. Hates corporations, has some kind of hard-on for animals, doesn't like celebrating differences... I thought most of this forum would be bumming him hard.

Left-wing? really? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/morrissey-blames-immigration-for-disappearance-of-british-identity-760825.html I wouldn't say he fits at either end of the spectrum.
marty78 Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 well here we are talking about it...so i guess he wins. No he wins when shit loads of people pay to watch him or proclaim him to be a lyrical genius. If he thinks he wins by being thought of as a dick then he is an even bigger dick.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Just a publicity stunt, from a heap of shite.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Just a publicity stunt, from a heap of shite. Nah.. Possibly one of the greatest lyricists of my generation and the Smiths were simply my favourite ever band. Live, Morrissey was fantastic.
ADK Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Hes a right idiot and i'm afraid it makes me want to not listen to the smiths anymore.
