lol. why? He's always been opinionated and had the same views for years. Cracks me up how seriously people take this sort of stuff, its funny.

Give me morrissey over the 99.9% of current pop 'stars' who have nothing to say, no opinion and tow the corporate line.

To some it dosn't matter but to others like me it is abit of a turn off. When someone's opinions are clearly just wind ups or total bollocks then they are not really opinions. Its just part of the show. Similar to people like Jeremy Clarkson.

Possibly one of the greatest lyricists of my generation and the Smiths were simply my favourite ever band.

Can't abide the man or his woeful dour songs, but I have to say, on the olympic coverage, he has a point. I did find some of the sycophantic, fawning commentaries a bit too much to bear, particularly from that supercilious nobody that is Claire Balding

Said before mate, I disagree completely with what Mozza said, the miserable twat.

The Olympics have been great for Britain and the coverage superb.

How could it not be? Led by Leicester's own Gary Spinnaker...

Not much of an anchor man when there's no action happening or nothing to link to. He seems to struggle to be spontaneous.

I don't know anything about this Van Morrison bloke but I think his Olympic rant is a bit silly.

He mentions "blustering jingoism". It's the fricking Olympics, what do you expect man? British commentators are bound to get a little hyped about Britain and British athletes. If you watch the Olympic shows on Italian or German tv I'm sure that their commentators are doing the same for their countries.

I've watched about 30 hours of live footage and I've not noticed any "dazzling roiyals" chatter. I've heard commentators talking about sport and giving respect to and getting hyped about athletes from all across the globe, just as they do at all Olympic games, but I've not heard any royal bumming. That said, I turned off the opening ceremony after 15 minutes or so, so I probably missed it.

Morrison - "Meanwhile, the British media present 24-hour coverage of the 'dazzling royals'". Advice - don't read or watch tedious media reports. You'll be happier for it. If you like to stand up against tyranny then prove it and stop waffling about nothingness. Waffle on about something a bit more urgent.

Oh yeah, and who the hell is Sir James Horrible?

I've got no problem with Oliver as I know nothing about the bloke, but sir?! lol

I say I know nothing about Oliver - that's not true - I recall him appearing on the pitch at half-time at a Rochdale match and all the fans started singing "You fat bas*%rd, You fat bas*%rd.....". I also know that he uses a wooden chopping board.
