Arsenal are laughable on my experiences, they've not got an ambitious mentality in the slightest and are generally content with coming 4th every year.

It's even stranger given they moved to the Emirates to give themselves a better chance to compete right at the top.

Yet they haven't won a trophy in the six years since they moved.

It's a long term investment though isn't it? The stadium clearly hit them financially in the short term. I don't believe for one moment that Wenger has had the alleged warchests over the last few years, a club of Arsenal's size loses the players they have only because they don't have the money to hold on to them and add to their squad.

It does seem to be slowly improving but Wenger is a man with a long term vision who builds at his own pace, there won't be immediate success and, to be fair, most Arsenal fans I know are realistic about that.

Didnt Kroenke say last year he had pledged £60 miliion for Wenger to spend and was encouraging him to spend it, but Wenger just chose not to?

Either way, they are as close as you'll get to a good financial model in football

Wenger's approach is to be admired, as he's consistently delivered Champions League football, all whilst working within the club's means. While he may not have delivered any silverware in recent years, he's ensuring the club with be competitive for years to come, without the financial risk that many other clubs are burdened with. The same can't be said for the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, even Man United, who, a few years down the line may find themselves in a very difficult situation.
