Uncle Monty Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 Jesus tonight this programme is bad. I mean I'm no Mark Kermode but surely this MUST be the worst soap of all. Is there any kind of creative talent at all being exploited here? I watched an episode with the highlight being a man shouting at a women not cooking his eggs right, what the ****??? Have soaps in general got worse or have I just grown tired of this shit? I grew up on the Brookside storyline of Tracey Jordash.
Rincewind Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 You have spoilt it for me now. Went out so missed it/ I normally watch it but it isn't as good as it used to be. I watch it because it's a habit.
Webbo Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 Poorly acted, depressing, Guardian reader's idea of working class life. My wife and daughters watch it all the time

Guest MattP Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 Never watched it, pure trash tv. I'm staggered people would rather watch things like that than read a good book. Don't get me wrong tv can be brilliant (sopranos, life on mars, the wire, boardwalk empire) but soaps like this? No idea where the popularity comes from.

Am just about to start season 3 of the wire, whilst waiting until AFTER XMAS for breaking bad to resume. Eastenders is shocking tv.

It is really good Matt. Brian Cranston is an incredible actor. Considering his previous role was as the dad in Malcolm in the middle . Highly Recommended.

Bettsj2 Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 How much is a ticket to France? P.S - Meant the new one.
Mack Posted 30 September 2012 Posted 30 September 2012 I'll probably get hammered for this but in my opinion Eastenders is a poison to our society. It portrays and 'normalizes' murder, theft, promiscuity, infidelity to name just a few, and most of it is far from suitable for a pre 9pm audience. I'd ban it.
