Bentleys Roof...........

Recommended Posts

i never noticed the irony of this board before. complaints about racism on br, followed here by jokes about jimmy savile and a poster who has jiggly boobs as his avatar (so paedophiles and sexism are ok but racism isn't).

plus all the slagging of players that went down like a lead balloon here. well guess what gallagher and wellens are out on loan. nfp finally found them out, oh dear that must hurt.

Jokes about Jimmy savile are ok, paedophilia is generally frowned upon, in the same way racism is bad but jokes about the edl, and the bnp are ok, as for a cracking pair of jiggly tits, it is not pornographic so it is as accepted as are avatars of topless men.

As for slagging off players first of all Gallagher is not out on loan, he is back with the club, secondly, the fact that a player may no longer be with the club does not excuse the level of abuse meted out at the time to Leicester players. Supporting the team means supporting the players, the manager and everything else not embarking on a campaign of abuse against certain players, particularly those that have been members of our most successful team in a decade.

Sorry but it doesn't, I support LCFC that doesn't mean I have to blindly fall in line and support players/managers who I believe can be improved upon.

The fact that they are part of the most successful team in a decade shows just how far we have fallen, it isn't something to celebrate.

When we have got rid of Dyer/Welens/Gallagher etc I wil be looking for us to replace the next weakest link.

So come on then... clearly a lot of bitterness over this 'charity' game can someone explain what happened on the day sounds juicy? when was it? is there a match report in an older thread? I'll reserve judgement till I hear what happened but personally I play Sunday League and the Foxes Talk lot seem a bit babyish about the whole thing.

Theres no need for Judgement they've pretty much admitted themselves they were out of order and the ref was their 12th man, they just seem to think it was ok to turn the day into farce because we were better than them at football and they wanted to win the game.

Not the balanced, impartial breakdown of the game I was looking for mate. Did you play? was it 11 or 5 a side what was the final score?

Well you're not the manager so no you won't.

It does show how far we've fallen but there have been many a season in the past when we've finsihed below 5th and many a time when weve played worse football than we are doing this season. We've also had far worse players than the 3 you mention.

Criticism is fine but the severity of the dislike shown towards certain players in some posts is completely unfair.

I didn't say I would replace them, don't be so pedantic, perhaps I should have posted 'I will be hoping that NFP/theclub wil be looking to replace the next weakest link.

That's a matter of personal opinion, they are currently our worst players imo.

I agree but the way some people label others 'haters' is ridiculous, as is the blind support given to certain players who fall well short of what should be expected.

They can only enrich these boards with their posts and opinions .etc and I'm sure most of them are good blokes .

Any other stuff will be deleted by the mods, the same as they do with our own scallywags

Didn't seem to be the case last time their site went down.

Long story short, very physical game, boiled over a couple of times, player may have cracked a rib going in for a challenge with the goalkeeper and Bentleys won and 4 years later some people are still moaning/bitter about it.

Wow it's like you were there

captain, nobody mentioned pornography or prudishness or anything else of that ilk, and i know from previous posts you're an erudite fella yourself so i'm surprised. sexism is what was mentioned. on a board full of blokes (and br is the same) it's not surprising nobody thinks it's sexist. i just noted the irony that you lot were on about racism on br (which is vile and shouted down by a fair number of folk when it rears it's ugly head), and doing the 'lads down the pub' routine when it came to women.

It's not surprising because it's just not sexist.

That's like saying a white person with a black guy in his avatar/sig is a racist.

If someone is being genuinely sexist or racist on here they are shot down pretty quickly.

I'm not accusing Bentley's Roof of being racist, I should add.

We aint done too bad for a bunch of old farts, up to now we've raised £15,000 from 4 Fundays, Most of us are pretty good really and the roof is still on

What he said, except I aint old, and I am too middle class to attend the fun day and actually get my hands dirty so I just buy a clear conscience instead.

Yes it does mean you have to support them, when they are out theree playing for the club, hence supporter, if they do something wrong, you criticise, but when they haven't even set foot on the pitch for months and people like you are still slagging them off, then it is pathetic. The treatment of Gallagher and Wellens was disgusting by certain fans, and apart from the vile personal attacks it is also damaging the club as a whole, you could tell it had affected Gally by his celebrations, or lack there of, after he scored last season, I assume you enjoyed those goals. Gallagher has his faults, as does Wellens, others, nobody is perfect, and of course we can improve, but I guarantee we would be better as a team and you would be happier as a person if you just cheered on the boys and had a little faith, you have included Dyer in your shit list, and yet he has been a consistent presence throughout this season, and we are currently second.

Don't know anything about BR, as I have never been on it, but I can reassure you on here, true sexism is shouted down and not tolerated, a pleasant non pornographic picture of a lady's lovely bits is not.

Don't worry I am sure you will find more things to complain about on here, but really you will find it more fun if you stick to arguing about Leicester, rather than comparing FT and BR.

As a website goes it is much better than BR, as for the posters, well, some you'll love some you'll hate, learn to use the ignore button for a more pleasant FT experience, and pop into general chat, there is normally a good debate going on in there.
