The name doesn't exactly strike terror in the heart.

What sort of age group are we talking about when they started ?

If i told you id be guessing as i dont know. Know a lot of people who've been in it, some from the 80s though i wouldnt say hhey were around when it first started

Edit be careful if you decide to google this lol

I won't bother googling them as all the stories about their exploits are probably gloriously embellished  .

I'm just a bit interested in how they were organised .

Were they formally initiated into the group and have proper membership ,or could anyone just hang around them and claim to be a baby squaddie ( or whatever individuals called themselves) ?

Purpleronnie obviously didn't go to Viena. Yet he's another bum the ultras. Ultras are scum, knife carrying racist who would never fight toe to toe. 2 yids got stabbed for being in the wrong place. If he went to viena , he wouldn't disrespect the bs.

I think there was one member that was murdered a few years ago. At least I think he was a member. He was a tough nut around town. He was stabbed and from what I heard he managed to give chase his attacker a couple of streets before collapsing. I think I know his name but won't say it in case I am wrong. Initials TB.

OK. Teddy Black.

Teddy Black is fookin older than us .He'd be about 90 now, so unlikely to have been a baby squaddie.

He was a former show boxer in the 1960's , young tuffs used to fight him for a prize if they could last 3 rounds ( very few picked up the prize)

He wore a trademark black leather coat and black pork pie hat around town .

He did have rather a menacing appearance ( a bit like a bigger Bob Hoskins) and I very much doubt if he'd have relished being called a baby squadder

Love all the Mongies giving it out about the BS.

Guarantee a) you wouldn't say it to anyone's face who has / is involved and b) if it went off and you where on to get an hiding and the BS appeared, you'd be begging for help !

Wrap it up little boys, stu, Hugo and Ashley have got it spot on.

Really. Have you ever heard of an incident that happened at Hillsborough?

You are naive if you think it didn't have anything to do with the decision to bring all seater stadiums in. Also the disaster at Hillsborough would probably not have happened if the fencing wasn't there.

Maybe you should follow them for your next lot of documentaries.

There's things i agree with about what they did and things i disagree. For the most part you were only caught up in it if you were looking for it. Certainly the clubs who play abroad are even noe protected by the firms who travel following the club.

Nothing wrong with a good punch up, though it rarely stopped at that. Bricks bottles and two razor blades used together making it harder to stitch together would soon ruin any enjoyment of a ruvk

The fencing was there to keep fans off the pitch because announcements like 'For your own safety please do not run on to the pitch after the game.' did not seem to penetrate the thick skulls of some supporters. The fans knew better ' Doh, dey are trying to spoil our fun again.'

And of course if you are one of the well behaved ones and there is a bunch of idiots behind you trying to get onto the pitch you'd be forced to do likewise and if there is a copper nearby you could end up as trunceon meat and nicked.

lol Sorry, I bow down to the greatness of thugs from past decades.

You were thugs, end of, regardless of whether you protected your own or not.

No no, there IS something wrong with a 'good' punch up, it's the stuff of neanderthals. In fact, even those dumbers probably only fought for food and such.

You're the biggest whinger about modern football on here, what aren't you getting about how firms are one of the main route causes of it?

In sure the disaster would of happened in some aspect due to over crowding and poor police tactics.. Still metal bars in standing areas... Pushing... People being crushed?
