bald reynard Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Could any City fans in London (or with 'mobile facilities') post some early City player ratings - otherwise, when anyone makes it back to 'civilisation' ?!
doubledeckerderek Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Schmichael - 6 made good save when first called into action, couldn't do anyang about the goal De Laet - 5 nothing special. Poor final ball when got forward, and roughed out of a few challenges Morgan 6 ok, but nothing better Whitbread 6.5 Just about MOM, with 6.5. Says it all. Won most aerial battles but never had ball under control Konch 4 Poor. He and dyer got out passed a few times in the first half, and distribution was awful throughout Knockaert 5 couple of classy moments, but continually over ran the ball, picked the wrong pass (I.e to Dyer) all the time, King 2 shocking, shocking shocking. Like playing with 9 men ( see vardy comments) Drinkwater 4 can't pass a ball 10 yards at the moment, or keep a shot under 30 feet. Dyer 4 did nothing of note Vardy 3 ran around ineffectually and never posed any threat. Better off not being on the pitch Nugent 5 decent volleyed shot towards the end of the first half, but a shadow of usual self subs: Marshall, 5 , futacs 6 James 4 Pearson: 4 crap selection. Got his head in the sand at the moment. Utterly depressing.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Kasper 6 Rdl 6 Morgan 6 Whitbread 4 Just fouls constantly stupidly. Mistake waiting to happen Konchesky 5 Never got going today Knockaert 5 Too much trickery and losing the ball. Out muscled King 6 DD 3 Was abysmal. Couldn't pass at all and shooting was laughable. Dyer 5 Man marked well Nugent 5 Vardy 4 Out of his depth
chili_con_carne Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 When is Vardy not out of his depth? What he's doing playing for us in the championship I do not know. It's embarrassing
Guest ttfn Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Schmeichel 6 - Poor distribution, one or two good saves. De Laet 6 - Goal came down his side but wasn't really his fault. Positive in attack, which is more than could be said for most of the others. Morgan 7 - Feel sorry for him. Often the only one who looks like he gives a crap. Whitbread 4 - Looked like he was going to give away a free kick with every aerial challenge. Awful passing. Konchesky 6 - Solid in defence. Poor going forward, but that's not really his job. Knockaert 4 - Terrible in the first half, was just starting to come to life in the second, but Pearson rightly subbed him because he looked like he could be sent off at any moment. Drinkwater 3- Gave the ball away like repeatedly. The left-footed 25 yard half volley he attempted was absurd. He was never going to score in a billion years. King 4 - Not very good - took too long with an early chance and rarely threatened thereafter. But yet again, people jump on him being "invisible" in an away game, when actually he did a lot of decent mopping up defensively and was far better on the ball than Drinkwater. Dyer 2 - What the fvck was he doing in the middle of the pitch for half of the game? He showed against Ipswich just how dangerous he can be when he gets his boots white, but too often he's found taking up crap positions in central midfield. We know Knockaert is going to come inside, so having Dyer in there too is a disaster. Vardy 2 - Not good enough. He runs around a lot, but he has a terrible first touch which cost us on numerous occasions today. Nugent 3 - Little better than Vardy but at least he had the guile to make some runs into the channels which helped us relieve some pressure in the second half. subs: Futacs 3 - It's little wonder that he never wins a header when he jumps with his head tucked into his chest. Felt a bit sorry for him on one occasion when he got a difficult ball under control and nobody could be arsed to support him. Marshall 6 - Tried to make things happen. The only one looking to make a positive pass near the end. One great cross about 2 minutes from time which nobody could be bothered to attack. James 3 - Made some utterly brainless touches and constantly dallied on the ball after coming on. Neglected the chance to shoot on more than one occasion.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Schmeichel 5 - Couldn't kick to save his life today De Laet 6 - Made some decent tackles. Got forward well too. Morgan 7 - Good Whitbread 5 - Needs to stop clearing it to the other team other than that he was okay. Konchesky 6 - Didn't look like he had many options to pass to. Dyer kept going inside. Did well in defence. Knockaert 4 - Started the game off poorly but had some good moments just before he was taken off. Drinkwater 3 - Woeful shooting. Nothing came off for him today. King 4 - Anonymous when we had the ball. Dyer 3 - Too much time thinking he is a central midfielder. He should have stayed out wide. Did nothing useful really. Vardy 2 - Did some running.. that's about it. Nugent 3 - Can't remember him doing much. subs: Futacs 4 - Only striker on the pitch to get the ball under control but nothing came of it. Marshall 5 - James 4
theessexfox Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Schmeichel - 6 - Poor kicking, a couple of good saves De Laet - 6 - A few good tackles, looked good going forward Whitbread - 6 - Dominant in the air, gives away silly fouls Morgan - 6 - Was okay, showed passion Konchesky - 6 - Did okay Knockaert - 5 - Was dreadful for the most part, but began to find the hole between midfield and defence and look threatening King - 4 - Cannot pass, went missing, dreadful Drinkwater - 6 - Awful shooting, average passing but put a lot in, saw a lot of the ball, thought he played well Dyer - 5 - Very ineffective, very poor Nugent - 6 - Worked hard, some decent flicks but no chances Vardy - 4 - Awful first touch, awful all-round play, no chances SUBS: Marshall - 6 - Got into the game a lot, tried to make things happen, looked threatening Futacs - 6 - Won a couple of balls, held it up nicely James - 6 - Looked decent when he came on, need to replace King
eastendfox Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Some of these ratings are silly. You'd think we'd lost 6-0. I'd give Whitbread man of the match with a 7, everyone else between 5 and 6, maybe Wes a 6.5. Nobody was out of their depth, Vardy looked better than Nugent to me, but equally nobody was quite good enough.
dmayne7 Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Wow - Some of the most ridiculous ratings ever. Kasper - 7 Not much to do but did pull of one cracking save. Distrubtion wasn't great. RDL - 6 Partly to blame for the goal Morgan - 7 Decent enough but actuallt looked vunerable at times. Whitbread - 8 He won every single header and had a cracking game. . Konch - 6 Solid at times but had a couple of hairy moments (no pun intended!) Knocky 6 - Terrible for the first 35 then came to life after that. Needs to calm down a bit at times though. Drinky 6 - Had a really good first half but was poor in the second King 7 - A couple of sloppy passes and fairly quiet BUT he stopped us being caught out so many times. He didn't win every 50/50 but he put in a challenge that slowed them down and gave us time to recover. Dyer 5 - I'm a fan but he just didn't contribute. Should have gone wider to stretch their defence but kept drifting inside. Nugent 5 - Worst I've seen him play. For once didn't look up for it. Vardy 6 - Shocking touch but his hard work gave us several corners and he actually looked a threat Marshall 6 - Provided a threat but poor decision making let him down James 6 - Tidy contribution from the lad but didn't impact the outcome Futacs 6 - Looks quite sharp and has a great touch but he did gave away a few silly fouls. The game was awful, the home fans awful, the officials awful and us lot not much better!

Nobody was out of their depth, Vardy looked better than Nugent to me, but equally nobody was quite good enough. We were terrible - barely created a chance all game and looked completely disorganised going forward. If you're going to give everybody 5 and 6, fine. But many players were way below par today. In my opinion, an "average" performance is a 5 and we go from there.
Bert Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Kasper 5 - little to do, shocking kicking. RDL 5 - unconvincing Konch 6 - thought he did ok, no help from dyer. Morgan 7 - standard Wes. Whitbread 5 - gives away too many needless fouls. Dyer 3 - unbelievably ineffective Knockaert 5 - tracked back when he lost the ball. Tried to make things happen King 3 - Absolutely dreadful. Bottled everything. Drinkwater 4 - tried to pull the strings but with the ineptitude of others, it was a hard afternoon. Vardy 5 - his usual hard work could've got us somewhere. Nuge 4 - gets no help when he's asked to try and beat Shittu in the air but didn't seem up for it.
Fox92 Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Very frustrating... Kasper 6 - Getting fed up of his poor distribution now. De Laet 6 Morgan 6 Whitbread 5 - Gives away too many, and very needless, fouls. Sums up why I don't rate him really. Konchesky 5 - Thought we've needed a new left back all season. Wasn't really great again today. Knockaert 5 King 5 - Getting fed up now. Outmuscled again and easy to beat. Backed out of a challenge which led to the goal. Drinkwater 5 Dyer 5 Nugent 5 Vardy 5 - First touch poor a couple of times.
Leicester Lass Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Schmeichel 5 - Really, really poor kicking. It's not his fault when he's only got Nuge and Vardy to aim at, but when Futacs is up there take a bit more time and actually try and aim for him please. De Laet 6 One of the better players I thought. Few bottled challenges though which was frustrating. Morgan 7 Didn't deserve to be on the losing side. The only one who seemed to care. Whitbread 4 Disasterous in parts. Gave away so many needless fouls. Coped well in the air but is just so clumsy, a liability for sure. Lack of pace is a massive worry too. Konchesky 6 Pretty average really. Knockaert 5 Really lost his way recently. Just so careless in possession and knocked off the ball too easily. Second half he started to look very dangerous though, wrong decision to take him off. Drinkwater 5 Sloppy passing occasionally but saw most of the ball for us and generally was ok, yhe front two offered nothing in the way of movement or runs to pick out. Just don't shoot, please. King 4 Missing in action. Dyer 4 Don't understand why he can't turn out when he receives the ball with his back to goal. Always passes it back to where it came from. Never really threatened to cause much of an opening. Should have been hauled off instead of Knockaert. Vardy 5 Yes, he tries hard. Completely out of his depth at this level. Needs to learn how to control a ball. Nugent 4 Did absolutely nothing of note. So poor. Marshall 6 Saw a lot of the ball and tried to make things happen. Did well. Futacs 5 Got into a few decent positions but gave away needless fouls really. James 5 Was fairly tidy when he came on but isn't the kind of player who can be a game changer which is what we needed.
Father Ted Posted 15 December 2012 Posted 15 December 2012 Schmeichel 5 - One excellent save first half. Kicking was miles off, think he may have struggled with the wind though. De Laet 5 - Not a clue where he was for there goal. Morgan 6 - Hindered by an early booking and you could tell he was being cautious after that. A booking received for a perfectly legit tackle which Millwall players were pleading for a red card for (why is there no willy puller emoticon?) Whitbread 4 Shit distribution and has square feet. Lost a couple of headers today, rarity. Konchesky 2 - Dog shit, get Schlupp back in. Knockaert 4 - Lost the ball countless times first half. Battled away second and showed glimpses of quality. Drifted in way too much. King 4 - Anonymous Drinkwater 4 - Tried to 'ping' balls that were just never on. Awful attempts at goal. Dyer 3 - Get wide ffs, what was he doing today? Looked lost. Has no support from Konchesky. Nugent 4 - No service. Vardy 5 - Gave him an extra mark because he battled fearlessly against Shittu who was a complete WARRIOR today. Oh well, he just came up against a monster today. Subs: Marshall 5 - Once more drifted in! Was he instructed this by NP? James 6 - Wasnt too bad, added a bit of a presence. Some good balls knocking about. Futacs 7 (MOTM) - Battled away, showed character, fire and personality. Good touches, held the ball up well. Excellent focal point and roughed their backline up. A different ref and we would have had a couple of free kicks in dangerous positions instead of free kicks in the other direction. Ref 0 - Completely useless egghead. Kept giving ridiculous decisions and we could not get into any rhythm or flow or have any trust in him.

Just as a sidenote, in the director's box after the game I sat next to the referee's assessor, just proved to me how much they are assessed really.

chrishlcfc Posted 16 December 2012 Posted 16 December 2012 Kasper 6- Some decent saves, but as said above distribution was poor De Laet 5- Lost out in 50/50 for there goal Morgan 6- Same old wes, steady performance. Whitbread 5.5- won a lot of headers, distribution was atrocious though Konchesky 6- At least he went in for a few 50/50's Dyer 4- Never received the ball, started moving inside all the time, which left us with no width. sometimes it's not his fault he doesn't receive the ball though. King 3- Lost out completely in the battle, largely anonimous Drinkwater 5.5- Tried to pass the ball, had an awful shot where he was more bothered/scared about a millwall player coming to tackle him than actually try and get a good shot in. Knocky 5- Try's to do too much with the ball too often, but that is why he is the exciting player that he is, frustrating day. Vardy 4- Ran around a lot, awful 1st touch and absolutely no service, but poor performance really. Nugent 5- No service, same as vardy really but his touch was occasionally better. Anyway i'm not too worried because that is how i thought the game might go yesterday. We were too weak and lost to many of the 50/50's. In nige we trust
