Leicfox Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 If he goes tells u all u need to know about the man.... That's not quite true. What you need to remember is Karl Oyston is a joke of a chairman who probably promised Appleton a transfer budget and so on, and has failed to delivery yet again, rumours say KO has been avoiding his calls like he did with Holloway so he doesn't have to folk out any money on new transfers. The reason Appleton wants away so soon is he thinks the way Blackpool is run is a complete joke, so I don't blame him for leaving. Two managers walking away in 2 months, no sign of the parachute payments, disgraceful pitch, no proper training ground, potential new signings never agreeing terms..The Blackpool job is a job no manager should touch with a barge pole...... Step forward Micky Mellon, Paul Ince or Sean O' Driscoll
Mack Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Oyston clearly is a problem Holloway has left them and Appleton. He's tight. And as a result Managers will move on from Blackpool to clubs that offer better contracts and job security. However Appleton is hugely overrated for me, and in 6-8 weeks time when he had done sod all at Rovers old Shebby will be telling him 10 games "Is a lifetime" and giving him the boot!
EcclesallOwl Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Sky Sports News â€@SkySportsNews #SSN understands Blackburn agree compensation with Blackpool for Michael Appleton. He is expected to be named Rovers boss within 24 hours
Les-TA-Jon Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Crazy! He's got basically no experience - so just like Kean and Berg then. Talk about learning from your mistakes... Also look at his record: P63 W15 D19 L29 Impressive. Shebby Singh: "If somebody has got the ambition, the knowledge and the experience, there will be people who will take the job. We are looking to offer a short-term contract with specific targets, and upon achieving those targets it will trigger a longer-term contract." Seriously how does he qualify for this job? Basically on until the rest of the season. Play offs at least otherwise you're out? What a joke of a club right now.
lcfcsnow Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Well it's becoming more and more clear what they look for in their managers.

iamafox Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 So funny that the Venkys owners are apparently supposed to be 'ambitious', they have shown no ambition in appointing someone who has only won 2 games out of 11 for his current club.

They're not the ones sorting this. Rumour is they've not had any involvement in the Appleton talks as of yet. Could be they tell him to do one when they decide they want a bigger name.

They should interrupt and ditch talks with Appleton so they can go for a bigger name like you said.

iamafox Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 They don't know owt about football. They hired Lee Hoos FFS. That's even more laughable.
brockmyster Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Why is michael appleton suddenly flavour of the month, not exactly done well anywhere yet and blackpool hardly seemed fussed about keeping him
Guest ttfn Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 They don't know owt about football. They hired Lee Hoos FFS. Wasn't that Burnley?
ADK Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Wonder who will take the Blackpool job? They seem like a club on the way down.

iamafox Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Wasn't that Burnley? Think it was Blackburn before Burnley. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/13606678
Jimothy Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 Think it was Blackburn before Burnley. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/13606678 That just says he left. The only reference to Blackburn is that someone who left at a similar time went to Blackburn. Hoos left Leicester and went almost straight to Burnley, I pretty sure of it.
Leicfox Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Wonder who will take the Blackpool job? They seem like a club on the way down. Paul Ince, Micky Mellon, Sean O'Driscoll or even John Barnes.
