Guest MattP Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 This. I've been on JSA for 3 years and in that time have only had about 4 interviews, it's making me feel hopeless with all these rejections I'm getting, I'm not getting anywhere even when I apply for retail, it's an endless circle of shit. I'm not getting anywhere with my applications for a paper round either, I'm free anytime in the evening.
Rincewind Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 I had mine taken off me for being honest and using common sense when deciding my age physical strength an lack of experience would reduce my chances of a suggested job to minus 100. By now the job advisers should have found a suitable job to apply for that matches his search criteria. I learnt the hard way that you have to apply for everything they suggest no matter how stupid as well as jobs you would not normally consider.
Soar Fox Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Anyone on here think it would be reasonable for Lamby to have his JSA taken off him on what they have read? I said this on a previous page. I think that he should have them taken off him. It doesn't look to me that he's interested in getting a job anytime soon. Excuse after excuse, not listening to anyone's advice and generally just sounding like a lazy bastard. No money for credit but seems to akways have money for football tickets and betting. He's a drain on society.
Ozwin Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 You seem a bit out of touch mate, I never applied for what they suggested cos I'm not an idiot. Yeah, a job in Coventry when I can't drive, good one! You just say you did and write it down as one of your 6. They were so easy to con it's unreal and you can see why millions (the Lamby's of this world) do it.

I think I said I may have done then the woman said we have not been notified of you applying is when I said the job was not suitable anyway. I was foolish I knoiw but as the Who said I won't get fooled again. I have five hours of work which I will say is flexable and will work when I am needed. They cannot do anything about that.
MooseBreath Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Thinking of linking this thread to all the job centres near where I assume he lives. Hopefully they'll find some evidence in here which is enough to get him off benefits.

(and I haven't opened a Mail or Express in years)
whoareyaaa Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Minimum wage is terrible though, I don't blame some people for not taking every job that is available especially with whats involved with the majority of them... although I really can not understand how someone could survive of JSA, £80 every 2 weeks or something? absolute joke will get you know where now days and would be gone in no time, Depends on the person really and what they want to achieve, to be honest I wouldn't take the majority of the jobs on offer but then I wouldn't just sit on my arse on JSA. tough choices, hard work.

There shouldn't be a choice though, that's the problem. Benefits are for bare survival, for making sure people don't just die, nothing more. They should be set at a level which means people are still desperate to find work and will take any job available.

Doesn't matter. Benefits are supposed to be there for absolute desperation, it's not a lifestyle choice. They shouldn't even be able to turn something down without a valid excuse. Give it them there and then, pick 50 a day at random to be given bibs and a stick to go out and litter pick around the town centre. Turning up and signing for £120 every two weeks foes no one anygood. Lets give them an incentive to get out.

Lamby Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 a lot of people seem to think it is. Only northerners

While they are handing it out, people will take it and will also not be prepared to do anything about getting a job (see lamby)
Rincewind Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 What did you do for money when they stopped your JSA? Well when it was stopped it was ewo or three months later. They mixed things and only stopped a couple of weeks. Thought it would be more. I got hardship payments which is around £42. I have savings so did not lose too much. But My balance is gradually nearing my overdraft level when charges will be made if I go into it. I have to last to July when Pension Credits start and that is almost double JSA. If I had found work soon after becoming unemployed I would have taken it but 18 month is making it difficult now along with my age so realisticaly I have to just surbvive. Having a part time job no matter how many hours may lead to other small part time work but 6 month is only 12 visits to the Job centre.
Donut Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Try and get into the bookmakers with the contact you know. Yes, it might be minimum wage and yes, the first 3 or 4 months might be a bit crap, but after that time at least itll have put money in your bank and open up more options if and when you look for something else. If it turns out alright and its something you want to pursue, win win.
Soar Fox Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Click on this link lamby looks and sounds quite good. http://www.gumtree.com/p/jobs/bar-staff-at-beautiful-pub-near-the-o2-arena/1007788573
StanSP Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Only northerners How the bloody hell do you have any right to mock people in this thread, of all places?! Shit troll is shit.
Lamby Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Click on this link lamby looks and sounds quite good. http://www.gumtree.c...rena/1007788573 I applied for that one already yesterday
Soar Fox Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 I applied for that one already yesterday Follow it up by ringing or going in. Ask if they've received you're application, show a bit of enthusiasm about it you never know that may swing it in your favour a bit.
Guest Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 Only northerners This from a kid who would rather watch Charlton than progress in life. Our condolences from those further north with a job and/or sense of self worth
DB11 Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 I've been reading this thread but is no one else bored of the trolling? He must be pissing himself coming on here thinking how more extreme he can go with his comments.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 The sad thing is that I'm not all that sure he's trolling. He certainly wouldn't be unique if he wasn't.
whoareyaaa Posted 26 January 2013 Posted 26 January 2013 I bet Lambys really a millionaire he's just taking the piss.
