SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Do you realise that living on £112 per 2 weeks is hard, especially as paying £30 for rent to parents, so I can't afford to live off £25 for 2 weeks, just not possible By the sounds of it you might have to get used to it.
Itsthejoeker Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Do you realise that living on £112 per 2 weeks is hard, especially as paying £30 for rent to parents, so I can't afford to live off £25 for 2 weeks, just not possible You live with your parents... What on earth do you need to afford?!
Rincewind Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Try paying for electricity, gas food etc as well out of it.
Lamby Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 You live with your parents... What on earth do you need to afford?! Travel (£10ish a week) Lunch money for when I'm out Beer money (£5/10)
Donut Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Do some networking with friends and family and find a non service industry role internship/placement if you can.......it might lead to something more permanent, and if it doesnt, no big deal, its CV gravy ready for looking for something more permanent?
StanSP Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Do you REALLY need beer money? Fvckin hell Lamby you really are hard work. You give other unemployed people a bad name. Grow the fvck up.
Itsthejoeker Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Travel (£10ish a week) - Walk/Cycle Lunch money for when I'm out - Don't eat out. Beer money (£5/10) - Don't drink Beer.
The Doctor Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Lamby you jackass - cut down on the football, take those bloody courses if they're what you need to get into the line of work you want to do, and in the meantime accept you may have to work on ****ing Saturdays. I've every sympathy for those in the job market these days, because it is bloody hard to get a job with the number of applicants and scarcity of positions, but boy if you aren't trying to wear that sympathy away...
StanSP Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 This sums myself, and others, up right now when trying to talk sense in to you.
Lamby Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Travel (£10ish a week) - Walk/Cycle Lunch money for when I'm out - Don't eat out. Beer money (£5/10) - Don't drink Beer. Can't ride a bike, and I walk a lot of places anyway. £3 meal deal from Sainsbury's/Tesco 3 times a week I only have 1 or 2 and its only £2.85 a pint
Rincewind Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Don't know why he wastes money on Charlton anyway.
Lamby Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Don't know why he wastes money on Charlton anyway. Entertainment value.
StanSP Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Can't ride a bike, and I walk a lot of places anyway. £3 meal deal from Sainsbury's/Tesco 3 times a week I only have 1 or 2 and its only £2.85 a pint Cut out the meal deals. £9 a week saved. Cut out the beer. Max £5.70 saved. How often are the beers drunk?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Entertainment value. Have a wank it's cheaper and more satisfying.
The Doctor Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Can't ride a bike, and I walk a lot of places anyway. £3 meal deal from Sainsbury's/Tesco 3 times a week I only have 1 or 2 and its only £2.85 a pint Seriously? You can't ride a bike? Oh, and in that case, keep walking places - only get transport if you've got to go right across the other side of the town. Stop with the bloody meal deals then, if you know you're going to be out and about, make up sandwiches before hand. You'll save a **** ton by doing so. Doesn't matter - if you need money then the first thing that's got to go is the trivial expenses like alcohol. I know it's hard to get a job - I'm stuck doing voluntary work up in Bradford, and the holiday job I've got at home is entirely down to nepotism - but you are not doing yourself any favours, so grow up, accept you're going to have to really cut down on some aspects of your life and try and make yourself look like the job is important to you, and not just a side thought.
Lamby Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Cut out the meal deals. £9 a week saved. Cut out the beer. Max £5.70 saved. How often are the beers drunk? Every 2 weeks or so, mostly have 1 per week, won't have any this or next week though. Seriously? You can't ride a bike? Oh, and in that case, keep walking places - only get transport if you've got to go right across the other side of the town. £2.20 a day for buses and that's only 3/4 times a week, and yes I'm allowed to get them as I aint walking about 6 miles
Donut Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 By the time youve got a job, you can go straight back to drinking beer, buying a mountain of Tesco sandwiches and watching Charlton. Plus having some dough that you can start learning to drive and screw pushbikes.
Vardinhio Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I think this thread should be closed as it brings shame on our forum.... Lamby, if you are serious (which I don't think you are) then you are a joke. You don't seem to have any kind of aspiration to make anything of yourself or your life and you are more happy to wank off over Yann and BWP than actually make a decent living. If I was your parents I'd be throwing you out. I had part time jobs from 16 right through to every summer/Christmas during Uni. I worked Sundays at my Uni shop too and even did crappy things like stacking pallets in factories. I was once so skint I manually hammered about 200 fence posts in to rock hard ground and then the geezer only gave me £20! I don't know what qualifications you have but if you don't have any worth mentioning frankly I'm not suprised as your attitude towards anything that isn't a cheap thrill is appalling. Go work in a factory, get a job at Tesco, work for McDonalds. I don't know how old you are but you are fast making yourself unemployable. It is a slippery slop for you son.
I am Rod Hull Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Tell em to fvck off, Lamby. Don`t get hassled by the man
The Doctor Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Got rejected from Tesco and McDonalds You make it sound like it's something to be proud of with that smiley.
Lamby Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 You make it sound like it's something to be proud of with that smiley. I was just pointing this out in response to the previous post. I've applied for a pub near Charlton, with this cover letter: "I have attached my CV in response to the advertised vacancy and wish to be considered for the role. I may not have any experience in the field of bar work but we've all got to start somewhere to gain that experience to progress ourselves and our minds. All I need is someone to allow me to show them my full potential as to what I can do and achieve within a working environment, and hopefully this person is you."
