notnow john Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 I'm not sure, I've never heard of Dussledorf. There is a Dusseldorf in Germany? So perhaps they've given this place a similar name in tribute to that? Pedants , can't live without them.
The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Pedants , can't live without them. I think you'll find when dealing with place names, its best to be sure you're right. You don't want to end up in Maidenhead instead of Maidstone (in fact you probably don't want to end up in either) Or York, when you're looking for New York. Or Ghent/Genk. I could go on for a long time. I recently had someone try to take up a policy and send me a cheque for £400. The amount due was £437. 'Oh well, I forgot the exact amount- that will do won't it? No need to be pedantic over the remainder'? Errr... ok, next time I come to your restaurant for a meal, I'll pay you £37 short. Trying to be correct where specifics are involved is not pedantry.
Finnegan Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Llanelli is a bit rougher than Llandudno. You really don't want to end up in Llantrisant mind, most of RCT is a dump.
MooseBreath Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Llanelli is a bit rougher than Llandudno. You really don't want to end up in Llantrisant mind, most of Wales is a dump. Hahahah, oh, I know.
Guest MattP Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Hahahah, oh, I know. Harsh, most of it is quite stunning. Just generally avoid anywhere where there are people.
The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Is the Taff of RCT where the term 'Taffies' comes from?
Finnegan Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Hahahah, oh, I know. I C WOT U DID THAR TRULULULULU And yes, Woolers.

However you say either spelling ,it sounds exactly the same but £400 has four less sylabols than £437!! Also ,I noticed in your examples you used 37 twice, pedantic and lazy

I can't even fathom the point you are trying to make. This site really should have a 'lite' version for the dimwits and the rest of us could simply avoid it. Is there not a Foxestalkelite site somewhere, a bit like this but minus the bottom dwellers?

I spend enough time speaking to idiots when they ring me to get a quote, so I'm off. Hope to catch some of the more intelligent amongst you (the non-mouth breathers) at a game soon.

Rincewind Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 A City fan came into the BHF shop today. Well I hope he was because he had a City cap and scarf on. I guess his job was painting trousers as he had quite a bit on them. Didn't buy anything so he must post on here. Careful with their money are Foxtalkers. (apart from Lamby)

Lamby Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 I'm quite annoyed, had no credit on my phone (contract run out last week) and got a voice mail yesterday (the one day I don't leave my phone on all night/morning) and it was someone phoning me about a job as I finally got round to getting credit today and I had to phone them back by yesterday evening...gonna try on monday to see if I can still talk my way into it.

Now I'm convinced you're trolling, nobody is that dumb they can't make a phone call within 24 hours, even if you don't have credit, you have your mates' phones, your family's, your house phone, internet calls, you managed to post on here often enough, you can top up online easily enough and if you have Vodaphone you can get emergency credit instantly.
Guest MattP Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Now I'm convinced you're trolling, nobody is that dumb they can't make a phone call within 24 hours. Yep, I'll second that.
