Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 For Rocky Ron. Hugely influential on the grunge sound - which was how I got into him. More sedate... http://youtu.be/uG1HY2zLc1s Less sedate... Epic (in the proper use of the word)... http://youtu.be/6GDIkb5CDUY And more recent.... 37 Studio albums, 3 more with Crosby, Nash, Stills and Young and 3 more as guitarist for Buffalo Springfield. Plenty to go at, but I'd miss most of the 80s stuff - the 80s killed rock music.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 January 2013 Author Posted 8 January 2013 I thought he was country Certainly got a huge country influence, but good music is a broad church!
21st Century Fox Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 ****ing love Neil Young, I have near enough all his albums. A lot of his 80's stuff was deliberately bad to **** over Geffen records. I do quite like Transformer Man though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pz-Km3sQxw
Rocket-Ron Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 Certainly got a huge country influence, but good music is a broad church! No I meant like Billy Ray country

Rocket-Ron Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 I've still not forgiven him for Wembley 69 Who was he playing for?
Zingari Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 Who was he playing for? Man City , he scored the winning goal for them in the 69 final against us ( obviously another Neil Young)

Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 January 2013 Author Posted 8 January 2013 THAT Neil Young died last year if I remember correctly.
purpleronnie Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 Love the man, amazing artist. Saw him play in Nottingham a few years ago, despite the boring crowd he was brilliant, have tickets to see him this year in brum..
notnow john Posted 8 January 2013 Posted 8 January 2013 His last great album was Sleeps with angels. Occasional great individual song surrounded by fillers.

Don't know if you've read the biography by Jimmy McDonough its a bit of a tome and only goes up to the late Nineties but I enjoyed most of it.

Can't wait for June, will be epic!
Finnegan Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Unplug that guitar, Neil. Get back to what you should be doing.
21st Century Fox Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Jimmy Fallon does a brilliant Neil Young impression. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5EYIJmixPw
21st Century Fox Posted 10 February 2013 Posted 10 February 2013 Neil Young covers Born In The U.S.A. Poor video quality, decent sound.
