The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20973585 What is McLeish doing?
ozleicester Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20973585 What is McLeish doing? Sounds like he's got some big targets, so perhaps is doing the right thing by camp?
Fox92 Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Good goalkeeper. Apparently can leave for free as well. Will be a good addition to any side in our division, I would have liked him here for free.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 He wouldn't be needed here. Schmeichel is a far better 'keeper and Logan has always shown himself to be a willing and able deputy.
Mack Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 He wouldn't be needed here. Schmeichel is a far better 'keeper and Logan has always shown himself to be a willing and able deputy. I'll have some of what you've been smoking mate because for me Logan couldn't catch crabs off of Jodie Marsh.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 I agree he's around 100 miles away from Schmeichel's standard and nowhere near as good a keeper as Camp. How many times a season is he needed on average though? You can count them on one hand. Unless we find a better goalkeeper than Kasper, it's going to be nigh-on impossible to persuade a better 'keeper to sit on the bench for 40 odd games a season unless our first choice is injured or suspended. Camp wouldn't want to come here and do that, he should easily find a mid-table Championship side where he'll be first name on the team sheet.

If Kasper broke his arm in tomorrow's game we'd be be ****ed unless we could get someone in on loan mate. Logan is a league 2 player at best. I still don't understand why Pearson hasn't signed a quality young understudy for Kasper.
Fox92 Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 I agree. Although Logan is only used a few times, a serious injury to Kasper like Mack says and Logan would have to step in. Camp leaving on a free would be excellent business for us in my opinion, he wouldn't have to really move home and he could challenge for number one spot anyway because I personally wouldn't say Kasper is better than him.

Fox92 Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013  Camp has been distinctly average for the last 12/18 months. He now plays behind not the best back four Forest have had since his arrival, but he is one of those goalkeeper's that has the ability to save a game. When he played behind a solid back four, including Morgan and Wilson, he managed to make team of the year. I don't agree with the 'Kasper is the best goalkeeper in the league' thing because there are many goalkeepers in our division, Camp included, that are as good as him.
Happy Fox Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Stats prove otherwise Kasper had 14 clean sheets last season Camp had 12 clean sheets This season Kasper has 10 clean sheets to date Lee Camp has 7. Therefore Kasper is better than Lee Camp.
MrSpaM Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Coming to us would be a terrible move for him, he'd only play if Kasper was injured. No way in a million years he'd come to us to do what Logan is doing atm.

I still don't understand why Pearson hasn't signed a quality young understudy for Kasper. I can see your point, but I'd advocate a loanee rather than a permanent keeper. I was surprised when Weale was released and Logan kept though, in spite of his cock-ups in his last season here and his vulnerability to long shots, I always rated Weale above Logan anyway. Perhaps a young keeper with room to improve would be a good signing with Logan going elsewhere, he'll never be first choice here after all, but clearly none of the managers Logan has worked under have seen his shipping him out as a priority.

I know you love all things Forest but Camp hasn't been the same since Billy Davies left, and most Forest fans would say the same. To say he's as good as Schmeichel over the form of the past two seasons is incredibly optimistic. It's also worth remembering that Schmeichel is still only 26, a good three years away from his peak and with maybe 10 years of good keeping left in him. I wouldn't swap Camp for Kasper at all nowadays, maybe three years ago but not now.

For me we also need a new GK coach. In my opinion Kasper has gone backwards from where he was when he joined us, and that must be the coaching.
Corky Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Don't see Camp as an improvement on Schmeichel, will cost a lot as a back-up. Would Derby have him back?

Soar Fox Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 Not a chance,he's a cvnt. He'd get on alright with non-league Nigel then.
Tinman Posted 11 January 2013 Posted 11 January 2013 He'd get on alright with non-league Nigel then. Don't be silly
anotherharboroughfox Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 Rob Green I still don't understand why Pearson hasn't signed a quality young understudy for Kasper. Wasn't Adam Smith supposed to have good potential?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 Wouldn't shock me if Given wound up there.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 Wouldn't shock me if Given wound up there. It wouldn't shock me but not exactly the long term option is he?
Voll Blau Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 I think the only person more pro-forest than Fox92 is Sting.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 January 2013 Posted 12 January 2013 It wouldn't shock me but not exactly the long term option is he? The lot at Forest don't seem too fussed about the long term man! I know the Thais have had their moments but they keep themselves out of the media and seem to have learnt their lesson from the whole Sven debacle. Big fan of Top of Big Vich.
