Strokes Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 He did say Nigel got rid of the bitching and moaners which is what we all assumed was his motivation in getting rid of a lot of the players. Just one more to go Ritchie

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Big respect of how honest he was, that he did lack things due to being away in ages. How there was a sort of bad atmosphere is the club at times, good on him for being honest

dmayne7 Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Just seen the full interview. Not really been a fan of his interviews in the past but this was very refreshing, to see a player speak his mind and not give generic answers

dedlock Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 An honest and straightforward interview from Wellens. Refreshing compared to some of the bull we hear from other players.

Maybes Posted 27 January 2013 Share Posted 27 January 2013 Fair play Richie. Always been a big fan of his but got to say I was very surprised to see him included yesterday.
brighton78 Posted 28 January 2013 Share Posted 28 January 2013 Probably goes against the grain a bit, but I've always rated Wellens as a decent, honest, hard-working midfielder with a better-than-average touch. I think it was only his lack of pace that stopped him becoming a Premier League player, albeit with a fairly average side - Bolton etc. Even now, I think he provides us with a decent alternative from the bench to close a game out - surely more useful than having Futacs/Waghorn/Vardy all sitting there. GingerrrFox Posted 28 January 2013 Share Posted 28 January 2013 Say what you want about Wellens as a footballer due to age, injury, form etc but what can never be questioned is how honest he is as a man.
OzFox Posted 28 January 2013 Share Posted 28 January 2013 He must not have had the same media training the premiership robots players have, who seem to be afraid of having a personality. I was thinking the same. Pre/post match interviews are usually a mind numbing waste of time, but Wellens has always been good value. He's refreshingly open and honest. Especially at Ipswich by the sounds of it.
