More signings not looking likely?

Maybe NP is lining up a surprise signing that we don't know about, someone who we haven't been linked with. Until the end of deadline day, watch this space.

Pearson doesn’t think there will be much movement in or out at City before the transfer window closes at 11pm tomorrow.

City have so far recruited Chris Wood from West Bromwich Albion and defender Michael Keane’s loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season. Centre-back Cian Bolger is expected to join Bolton Wanderers on a permanent deal today.

“We always try to do our business early but, if there is any late business then, hopefully, we will get it done,†said Pearson said. “I don’t really envisage too much happening.

“I can’t say at this point (if there will be more business). If there is any further business you will find out at the appropriate time but it remains to be seen.

“It is not the easiest window to operate in because most clubs want to hang on to their players. You can sometimes find prices are inflated.

“I don’t know too many managers who are in a hurry to off load their best players.

“I am not aware of any clubs coming in for my players and, if they did, I would try to rebuff them.â€

pretty opaque statement. The message appears to be that he was trying for at least one player but wont pay inflated prices so the deal wont happen
