muzzy1981 Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 With only a few days left it's not looking likely we will bring anyone in. Nige doesn't really do lastminute.com ala Sven - Beckford. Do people think we have enough strength in depth to stay up top?
cc_star Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Deadline day is the best place to see all the headless chicken managers, the usual suspects will be busy Big Nige did his main business before the window even opened My only concern is Beckford & Danns coming back, last thing we need is people sniping from the sidelines causing the kind of problems Wellens eluded too in his post-match interview.

If Hudds want to send them back they would need to pay their wages for the remainder of the loan, not going to happen.
Babylon Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Isn't the loan window open for a while anyway? Nige will get someone in if and when we need them.
coolhandfox Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Isn't the loan window open for a while anyway? Nige will get someone in if and when we need them. I think its normally open until about March time.
Carl the Llama Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Isn't the loan window open for a while anyway? Nige will get someone in if and when we need them. Exactly this. It doesn't look like he has any more permanent signings in mind, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's keeping tabs on a few lads with an eye to a loan.
crisp packet Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Seen as though we have a game Thursday, I would expect any in comings would be done before??
kingfox Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Our starting 11 is one of the best in the league, our back up however is pretty poor. Apart from having King, Waghorn and Dyer/Marshall to bring on from the bench, Vardy, Gallagher, Wellens, Futacs, Schlupp don't fill me with confidence.
MGLCFC Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 But St Ledger, Moore and to a certain extent Whitbread are ok
Happy Fox Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 I would say we would need two more players ideally, another central midfielder and a Left winger.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 I think we'll get someone in on loan For what position?

You didn't mention SSL/Moore/Whitbread, don't they fill you with confidence? There can"t be many , if any championship clubs with depth as good as ours. Our 22nd best player could get into several championship first teams.
muzzy1981 Posted 28 January 2013 Author Posted 28 January 2013 Loan window is likely then, i'd prefer that to any knee jerk signings

There can"t be many , if any championship clubs with depth as good as ours. Our 22nd best player could get into several championship first teams. If those players didn't fill me with confidence I would of mentioned them, I said yesterday I would be more than happy if Moore and St Ledger had to start games later in the season. Our depth isn't good, Vardy, Gallagher, Wellens, Futacs, Schlupp on the bench every week isn't good, it's poor. Only teams they would get in, is relegation threatened sides or League 1 teams.
Fox92 Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 I'd like us to bring in a left full back, even if it is just a loan, but I'm not pushing Nige because he knows what he's doing and won't jump straight in/last minute reaction.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 We're going to pip Chelsea to Drogba. You heard it here first!
NewquayFox Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Still rumours of Trotter & Baptiste going around though... ;0/
dpjfox Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Personally I think we need 2 more players to back-up and compete with what we have. With us playing Thursday and the loan window re-opening there is no rushWhile Trotter and Baptiste remain unsold there will always be the rumours
Lambert09 Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Most other teams would kill for our bench. Only change I would say is needed is Vardy going out on loan with a view to permenant. Not sure how people can slate the bench though, waggy was on a good run of form, dyer is possibly having his best season for us, promising you g defenders I. Moore and schlupp and super super Andy king. Any top 6 team would be happy to sign any one of those players for their benches
Libertine Dream Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 I'd take a central midfielder and as winger that could also play up top but its not necessary
Dan Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Wouldn't say no to another loan signing personally and especially with all these games we've still got. Saturday was a big eye opener in truth, our depth is nowhere near what I thought it was.
Dan Posted 28 January 2013 Posted 28 January 2013 Good. I'd rather have a boring window (even though we've signed a player who's hit 7 in 5 in all comps) than have got it wrong earlier in the season so we gamble on more players in January. Deadline day is a farce IMO.
