Jesus, he fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down didn't he?

Probably lost the majority of his brain cells on the way down too, the clueless tit.

Listen to Durham everyday and you'll realise he does a good job and knows his stuff. He makes my daily commute home everyday just about barable.

He's a posh fan, he'll come out with something every week on who they play, for a laugh except his point this week isnt miles away in my opinion.

From my view in the seats (as I took my youth team of 11/12 year olds) there was space, people just don't have a clue how to act or how terraces work these days. Plenty of clubs takes those numbers and get on fine, the overreation in this thread is pretty pathetic.

Oh god here we go. (Clive on Radio Leicester.)

FFS. I know it wasnt exactly comfy at times but at no point did i think I was in danger (and I was in the middle of it all)

Have to disagree Tommeh. Biggest away following in the league they've had this season is 3700 from Leeds.

It may not have been over sold but the organisation from the stewards was piss poor.

Posted

The stewards were the main cause of the problem for me but that's the most packed I've ever seen it on there, having been 4 times.

Haven't commented yet, but i can vouch for what people are saying on Radio Leicester at the moment. That end was way too overcrowded. What i did notice was that the stewards were filming the crowd on the left hand side when the announcement came to move forward from the tannoy. If they want evidence that nobody could move forward when they asked all they need to do is look at that.

The excuse they've come up with that they undersold the capacity is a complete joke, I've stood at that ground two other times, both were nearly sold out, and it was nowhere near as packed as that. Peterborough are straight up lying about the amount of tickets sold, and all they have to do is look at their own security footage to see.

If that's the case and you guys went to the game, it may be worth calling the show to explain how it was for you guys and if possible, explain why safe standing is SAFE and why all of these guys shouldn't be against it, it sounds like they know nothing about it!

I would call but didn't attend on Saturday so it may be more difficult to get my point across.

Yes it was packed but at no point did I fear for my life like a couple of callers are making out.

Why are the callers keep going on about Hillsborough and Heysel, if the worst did happen on Saturday people would have been able to climb over the advertising hoardings at the front. It's not as if we were penned in.

This. I was only slightly concerned for when we scored The missus (Leicester lass) might've been crushed.

I stood to the left in the first half, and just to the right in the second half.

Couldn't see any problem, but then I'm an old git who remembers full terracing.

The real health and safety issue was the river of urine from people who wouldn't wait to get into the inadequate toilet facilities.

Had to turn off the moan-in as it annoyed me so much.

The problem was not terracing or the overselling of tickets, it was simply poor organisation by the stewards and by our fans from the moment the gates opened.

I got into the ground at about 14:05 as I wanted to be in there early to get a decent spot. On passing through the turnstile all of the entrances on the right hand side of the terrace (the nearest entrances) were blocked by stewards so that we could only use the entrances to the left hand side (the furthest away).

Having been to London Road a few times, it was clear to me that they were attempting to fill up the terrace from left to right in order to prevent any problems such as we've had in the past, particularly in the League One season whereby it was quite uncomfortable.

On actually getting onto the terrace I was quite surprised to see that the majority of people had chosen and been allowed to move towards to the middle, despite the middle entrances being blocked. This was clearly a flaw in Peterborough's plan to fill the terrace from left to right.

I remained stood to the left, in front of a railing as I knew I wouldn't be victim of any ridiculous surge. Where I stood for the game was fine and there were no issues at all, everyone seemed to be having a decent time. It was comfortable and there was plenty of room to celebrate.

Now clearly Peterborough foresaw there being issues on the terrace otherwise they wouldn't have tried to fill it from left to right as they haven't in the past, however they weren't helped by their own stupidity and that of our own fans who were, probably understandably, keen to get to the middle.

I also don't doubt that it was uncomfortably packed in the middle, but to liken it to Hillsborough is ridiculous.

I listened to Radio Leicester's phone in and am surprised that Ian Stringer did not talk about the virtues of Safe Standing promoted by FSF but having said that you have to respect the honestly expressed opinions of those who phoned in and said that they felt it was dangerous/uncomfortable.

The fact remains that Peterborough's terracing provides a physical layout which gives the opportunity for bad stewarding/too high capacity. This human element will always be variable and seating/Safe Standing stops that opportunity from arising and poor stewarding is then irrelevant.

Perhaps, children should be barred from Peterborough's terracing.

I still don't follow why those who felt the terracing was dangerous/uncomfortable didn't make the decision to attempt to leave the ground and go home.

The tickets were sold out of our ticket office, if Peterboro have lied about the numbers then our office would be able to put the record straight. I was in standing to the left hand side of the terrace towards the top and there was plenty of room. Having others have said the problems were due to poor stadium design along woth poor stewarding on the day.

I was almost tempted to phone the moan in, what an embarrassment.

People who are saying this could have been another Hillsborough need to have a serious word with themselves.

We must have alot of fans who either have never been on a terrace or who have short memories. When a

terrace is either full or close to being full you get squashed. That is why old ladies and young children should

not go in there. My dad is 67 and did not want get squashed so we went in the seats ( they were available).

One guy even phoned in to say he was worried about the blind man stood next to him, you couldn't make it up.
