spot on.Peterborough are a small club pushing above their weight. This is not meant in a bad or sour grapes sort of way,it's fact.Really do not think the stewards had had the experience or training to deal with a capacity away end, like there was last weekend.

I agree with your first statement. However the stewards have had plenty of experience of a full Moy's. So they shouldn't be excused of any incompetence.

I'll give you that. Especially the steward that thought he was the big "I am" after the final whistle in the bottom right corner of the terrace. How the bloke who was mouthing off at him never belted him I'll never know. Just one thing fella if your that fan reading this... It looked quite funny you getting worked up and I guess your young lad trying to calm you down. I'll agree though, the stewards could, and probably should have let able bodied people out the side gate as well as the disabled folk in chairs and their helpers.

The stewards were dicks. Went out of the nearest exit pre game to go toilet, the helmet at that exit told me I wasn't allowed back in "because that's way it is". Told him he was a power crazed ****, and then his mate let me in the next bit because he'd seen me come out of there.

I think it was more some of our fans didn't have the experience of what to do.

I got in around 2:45. Mooched to the middle, went back a little and stood still. Some people attempted the same, hit a barrier and couldn't work out what to do next.

Still, all in all a lovely day ruined by the footy.

Well you can forget about safe standing now! Once the Fa see this report then that's the end of that.

Very sad but very true really considering their general attitude and people's general ignorance towards safe standing. Sad sad scenario.

That doesn't excuse lack of common sense and I fail to believe for one second that end hasn't been full before.

Peterborough deserve slamming but they'll get away with it just like Norwich did for the opposite wrong.

I'd argue that the events at Peterbrough support safe standing as much as anything

Ah but why would they listen to that argument when they can easily twist it to support their own?

Pah! You and your reasoned, well supported arguments are no match for blind and deliberate ignorance from the fat cats.

Kitchandro nailed it. It should be but the general ignorance and awful attitude towards it just means it'll be bent in their favour.

I'm for safe standing. My point isn't about standing because i feel people will use this now. To say standing not safe. I never felt in danger on saturday but i feel that the way the stewards were behaving could had led to someone getting hurt. I feel that they oversold tickets and try to make excuses. Ok i missed the first half hour but at the time i was sooo pissed off because i wanted to be in the city end Not outside getting useless imformation off some twaty small time thugs. Im not angry we lost because we deserved too.

I think Leicester should make an official complaint because Leicester could get some compensation out of this, so could some supporters.

lol

Compensation for what? Being a bit cramped in the away end!

Why?

People saw the game in its entirety. I feel for those who didn't get in when the match kicked off, but everybody knew how packed it was likely to be on that terrace. If you'd gone in before 2:30pm like a great many did, myself included, you'd have had no problems. You simply can't pitch up at 2:55pm when there's a packed terrace and expect to get in as quickly as you can in a modern stadium.

Get to Peterborough early, get smashed for 2:00pm, go straight to the ground, pick a decent spot and sing at the players during their warm up. Used to work well enough at Filbert Street when it was rammed.

I got there at 2.55 had to queue for a bit at the turnstiles but went straight to the far end and got on to the terrace easy enough just in time for kick off.

Just to remind bayfox of the last trip to the great over sold terrace on the moys end. People have short memories on this shit hole of a away end. Glad they knocked it down. I'm all for standing but that day was a joke. Clearly over sold and I missed the first 30 mins because of it.

Some people are talking rubbish here.   The away end wasn't "over sold" that year.

The total away following was 4700.   There were about 1,000 - 1,200 in the seats and probably about 3,500 - 3,700 on the terrace.

The Moys End terrace comfortably holds at least 5,000, and it wasn't overly packed that day.

Obviously some people crowded together and didn't use all 3 tunnels to spread out enough.

Well that's just silly, clearly there was a stewarding failure if you missed the first 30 mins. It doesn't make the end a 'shit hole'. How can an inanimate area of concrete be blamed for the poor organisation by humans at Peterborough United FC? You do jump to some strange conclusions.

I went the year before and despite losing it was a great end, I'm glad I experienced it. Would rather it oversold (conjecture and quite a serious accusation without factual evidence) once in a while than some of the sterile sitting ends I've had to endure.

As has always been the case, standing ends are always far superior to seated ones unless they are incorrectly managed.

If you're gonna remind me at least tag me so I can have a right to reply. Rather than having to find your shite comments

Great day out. I was there and managed not to miss half an hour of the game. Yes it was busy but as the bloke on the tanoy  pointed out it was because everyone had tried cramming in the centre behind the goal. Now i'd suggest that may be our own supporters fault. Walking to the far end wasn't a difficult instruction to follow.

As mentioned elsewhere in the Fleetwood thread my memory from that day is people pissing everywhere again I'd blame weak bladders

And as you seem so obsessed with my opinion recently why not read the thread. You can find my post a few pages in and i stand by it. The train the old bill forced us onto after the game was far more rammed and dangerous than that terrace.:schmike:

Peterborough is overall one of the better away days in modern football. Packed trains, busy pubs, the barge on the river, there irrational hate of us lol direct trains or 1 road what's  not to like.

Very poor showing from if this is true.

For years sensible people have been saying that standing isn't unsafe. Even old terracing like that at London Road isn't unsafe if it's managed properly. But an occassion like this does not help the argument.

Whoever is to blame for overselling this should be ashamed.

See what I mean with some people ? Bayfox read the thread back and you'll probably get a idea on this. I'm not alone on what I'm saying. So please stop trying to make out it's only me who held that view that day. I got there with 5 mins to go till kick off and couldn't get in any part of the stand and it wasn't just me either. Hundreds of city fans where outside for ages waiting to get in. Made news that boro had to come out and issue a statement on it. It was unsafe so stop trying to be a hero and justify it.

No one's ever proved or admitted over selling and imagine thinking rocking up 5 mins before ko knowing that all the old baby squad, YBS  whatever they were and modern day chavs had all jumped on a train for a lads day out was ever gonna aid your cause.

With the greatest of respect if I rock up at the KP 5 mins before ko I would miss the ko Infact if they aren't playing the post horn whilst I'm taking a piss I feel I have failed.

I wasn't in the ground overly early but as mentioned before. The fact the stadium announcer was pointing out the problem proves they knew and understood the issue. Being able to follow instruction was the issue we walked down past the goal and it was fine.

Again like UFS I guess we share different ideas on what makes a good day out.

For the record this now being 12.30 on tv and losing a terrace has ****ed it for me. So at least one other lucky punter can have a day out instead.:vardy:

Again your ignorance knows no boundaries.  You have clearly skipped out what I've wrote and just started rambling on about stuff what I haven't even said. Please quote me if I'm wrong though.

This wasn't my first trip to Peterborough, the league one season was rammed but that day was a lot worst. The year before we played there wasn't know where near as packed either. READ THE THREAD BACK ON PEOPLE VIEWS THAT DAY PLEASE. I'm not in a minority here.

Again ive stated I want safe standing and don't question my support of the club please. Just because I'm not part of the UFS. Doesn't mean I don't stand and sing all game. That arrogant attuide won't get the UFS anywhere attacking fans with a different view point of improving the atmosphere.

One of the issues was stewards not letting people use certain entrances, particularly towards the sides of the stand, which obviously meant that everyone was trying to get into the middle.

It was quite clearly oversold, and it was dangerous. I dread to think what would have happened if Waghorn would have hit the target from 6 yards for the equaliser.

There you go bayfox, she is part of the UFS and she ADMITS IT WAS DANGEROUS.

I'm not trying to justify anything, I was at both games you talk about and am offering my experience of the day. For me there was shed loads of room to the far end of the terrace, there fore leading to a crammed middle section to the best of my knowledge. We gave up and walked past the middle section and had few issues in getting space or seeing the game. As I say that says more about the mentality of some of our fan base that they want to cram in behind the goal and cause an issue than go stand by a corner flag.

Always the same on terraces. Burton pre season, Fleetwood this week. People just to lazy to walk to the far end or obsessed with getting what they consider a better view.

As for UFS why do you have to bring them into every discussion. I don't speak for UFS nor does Em to the best of my knowledge unless she is now the official spokesperson, and at the time you have quoted the post she was not an active member so I've no idea what the relevance is.

Your expirence of the day is clearly different but as I say rocking up at an away ground with a terrace with 5 mins to spare seems a daft idea, you have clearly been following us long enough to understand that. I've at no point suggested your experience of that day was a minority, as it seems the majority were all crammed into one place. So i would expect there to be a high portion with similar tales but it could have been easily solved had people listened to the announcements being made or at least it would have certainly eased a bit of pressure on the middle section.

I can't comment about over selling etc as I have never seen anyone admit it. But if you can link the apology I'd gladly take a read.

I do agree that safe standing would clear a lot of these issues. But I do currently wish we could find some solution to the slow death of the terrace, personally I much prefer watching a game standing up.
