Leicesterpool Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Just a query is it possible to pick up on the commentary for Leicester matches for away games? I know it depends on signal, but does anybody pick up the signal?

Yojoe36 Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 I usually pick up the signal in both the entire East and West Midlands. I've not really tried anywhere else.
BoneDog Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 Depends where you are obviously, otherwise get yourself a DAB. How do you get it to work on DAB? I got a DAB the other day but can't pick up RL. It's got an FM option where I can pick up RL clearly but not on the DAB. It just says 'station not available'.
KingPowerLCFC1884 Posted 14 February 2013 Posted 14 February 2013 didnt work for me at Peterborough & Crystal Palace but thats all.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 15 February 2013 Posted 15 February 2013 From when I've driven to away games, Forest is perfectly clear, Northampton is okay, in Peterborough I got it but barely.
Collymore Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Under the right conditions I can hear Radio Leicester in Newcastle! This is only when signals bounce of the troposphere. You can actually forecast when this will happen here. http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo_nwe.html You basically need oranges over Leicester ducting out to your location. A long shot, I know! When they bounce off the ionosphere (which is higher up)I can hear local stations from north Africa at times. This cannot be predicted and is called sporadic e.

Goes a way to explaining why at some point last summer, I retuned my TV in Leicester and got BBC and ITV Yorkshire. I'm gonna be checking that site all the time now to see if I can pick up weird radio stations.
Fox92 Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Can get it when I'm at home (65 miles away). Can't get it in Manchester when I'm at uni though, so have to rely on streams.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 It will also depend on the FM ariel that you use, iF you use an outdoor directional ariel mounted on a pole for the best results, google it and find a site you like. I think you should be looking to spend around £50 This link is a good starting place http://www.aerialsandtv.com/fmanddabradio.html
fleckneymike Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 If you can't get a signal the solution is simple. Get the bloke next to you to call you 'chief', have someone else ask you answers not questions, get someone else to confuse the names all the non uk players and most importantly ensure that at no point do you even have a vague idea of what's actually happening. Once the game finishes try and find either someone who hasn't seen or heard the game to tell you what they think or find a man called Roy as quickly as possible and get his opinion.

Then you can phone in yourself and speak with greater authority, especially if you engage Stringer in a conversation about different hats worn in the stands!
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Get yourself a better aerial Good reception
harpendenfox Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 Some years ago managed to pick up commentary on a night game whilst driving to a meal out with my wife in north Norfolk. She was not amused with my delaying tactics.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 16 February 2013 Posted 16 February 2013 This thread proves 2,things 1),never ask a sensible question on FT 2) even worse never answer it

Leicesterpool Posted 17 February 2013 Author Posted 17 February 2013 Another way is probably picking up wifi at the ground, which is impossible.
