Dodged a jurassic bullet there...

It seems Hollywood have to milk every decent movie until they make at least one shit sequel to ruin the series.

Jurassic Park 4 will be just like Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

Jurassic Park III with the phoneosaurus was a bag of knackers. Nothing can ever ruin the first JP though. I don't care if I'm 26, I still watch that shit regularly.

I thought the 3rd one was decent.

The 1st one was brilliant and the 2nd one was good as well, if a little bit long.

I think I have missed one, the first was good no doubt about that, also I have seen the one in the giant bird cage where the rich couple go back to look for their son, think that's right.

Is that the third one? Still a good film.

Does that fact that I haven't seen any of the Jurassic films make me an uninformed philistine?

Just watch the first one.

And yes. Yes, it does.

It is. I enjoyed it for the dinosaurs but after a good build up with the son paragliding onto the island and disaster striking followed by the plane crash, the moment the T-Rex and the Spinosaurus started fighting was the exact moment it all began going downhill, culminating in Dr Grant 'talking' to the Velociraptors. Bleh.

2nd film was so much better, but no dinosaur film will ever hold a candle to the first.

I've never seen ET. And I'm never going too either

I saw the third at the cinema (must have been about 14 I guess) and died a little inside. That bit with Grant and the raptors is a horror show. That said, I haven't seen it since (despite owning the trilogy on Blu Ray, and DVD before that) so maybe I should watch it again.

I dunno, you'll probably just find even more things wrong than you did at a younger age. I still watch the 1st at least once a year, the 2nd maybe every other year for the waterfall scene, the badass mercenary guys and that guy from Prison Break getting eaten by little green dinosaur things (I pretend the gymnastics vs raptors bit doesn't exist, it helps).

The only reason I watched the 3rd all the way through last time I watched it was because I was too stoned to do anything proactive, like switch the 1st on instead.

I managed to watch the first one while in Sweden for that preseason tour under Sven. At 4am in a random girl's studio apartment. While sharing a sofa bed with a friend. While another friend was trying it on I'm the bed. One of the weirdest places I've watched it. I have no idea how but it's always good to check a girl has it on DVD at some point in the night.

I've also realised it's now the only film I have on my iPhone. Prepared for anything.

The first one is a superb film, it was on last Sunday and I happily watched it all the way through, I don't think I've ever seen the second, for some inexplicable reason the third is always on tv, and it is decent apart from the whole raptor egg storyline, the stuff with the flying dinosaurs was a bit far fetched, but then it was a film about dinosaurs, but maternal raptors hunting down their eggs and able to communicate always spoils it

Is that not a plausible theory then?

Most of what I know about dinosaurs comes from the films so I haven't really questioned much of it.

Of course it's a fantasy anyway so I've always just appreciated them for what they are.

These are the clever girls that outflanked master huntsman Muldoon in the 1st film, and annihilated a bunch of mercenaries in the 2nd. But they don't touch a bunch of defenceless humans they have fully encircled because one of them blows through a replica nasal cavity or whatever it is? Come off it. The film would have been 10 times better if that scene was the end of Dr Grant and the rich family that dragged him to the island.

Here's the offending scene:

Ridiculous. For once the top rated comments on youtube get something right. :D
