Should we thank York for all the publicity they are giving to Leicester?

They are a stupid lot over there in York. King Richar III was found in Leicester, and will be reburied here, but some deluded people in York think that if they scream and shout loud enough the King will be sent over to york. Foolish people don't understand that all they are doing is giving Leicester more publicity. - here's a story about Yorks lastest round on moaning and throwing tantrums http://www.guardian....ichard-iii-york

The King has been here for over 500 years and here he will stay.

LONG LIVE THE KING -even if he's been dead for 500 years

There's only one King in Leicester.

There are two, surely?

- "He gets the ball, he scores the goal, Andy, Andy King!"

- "He gets the throne, he kills his nephews, Richard, Richard King!"

Believe it or not, some people aren't even aware he was found in Leicester! I've been working near Stoke the last few weeks. There's a cracking radio station called Signal 1. The woman presenter though does my head in, she sounds incredibly thick.

A woman rang up to request a song or whatever. It turns out she's an archaeologist. The radio presenter said, 'oh and have you been keeping track of events regarding King Richard being found under the car park in Lincoln?'

I don't know if it was more worrying that someone I guess should be 'up' with current affairs didn't have a clue where it was or the fact that the archaeologist didn't correct her and merely agreed.

Well, I had to text in to the show didn't I?

I think I said something like, 'I always thought Stokies were pretty thick but LINCOLN?? Why on earth didn't the archaeologist correct you? Stu from LEICESTER'

I don't think my text got read out.

You mean, 'City'.

I suppose they have a point if he is from there, or whatever, but they haven't been interested for the last 150 years.

He's not really from there though is he?

They've been throwing a big tantrum since they learned that the King will be staying here in Leicester, and now some have sent hate mail to the Dean of York.

The idiots need to grow up, get a life and learn their place.

I don't know, hence why I put 'whatever'. I haven't been following the story, but I am under the impression he travelled between Leicester and York.

No one in york was interested when they were approached by the richard III society before the licence was signed. The council, mp's, some of which are now bitching about it and the minster, showed no interest in the matter. Obviously they didn't expect him to be found. You dont hear them offering to reimburse the cost to the university, hospital, council and other local groups involved that amounted to over 200,000.

Crappy little town? lol Have you ever been to York. Not a nicer City in the UK.

This is true. Been a number of times.

... And it's a City lol

Did Richard III go to York to garner support before his battle with Henry Tudor?

No he did not, he went where he felt his support was strongest...Leicester.

This is why many of us think of them as sad losers. The idiots think that if they moan, whinge, cry and shout enough they will get the

remains of a person who they never really cared about.

Good news people, the war with york has ended with victory for us http://www.thisislei...l#axzz2NJhv30Rv

I suspect some of those yorkshire losers will still not understand they were in over their heads when they decided to take us on.

To be honest i don't think that many people give a shit. More people probably would have seen it if it was in York but i agree it should stay in Leicester.
