Wellens FFS Wellens in starting XI

Rubbish.

The squad is showing signs of progression.

James, Drinky, Knocky, DeLaet are only going to get better IMO.

Just because we used Wellens in one game to compliment a tactical change don't mean that we aren't progressing as a squad.

I've always maintained its NEXT season that I think we'll be promoted, if Pearson stays and we retain the squad. Just a couple of real quality additions, especially in the midfield will make a big difference IMO. This season, though I'm hopeful, I believe my prediction of 7th will be the case.

I'm also expecting Wellens to leave in the summer.

If Wellens was, like Bert said the best player in midfield V Cardiff, don't really speak highly of the squad in general does it?

Wellens was also played at Huddo away ffor your info!

Dont let us be the Liverpools of the Premier League...Its always next season

Think the owners are gonna keep splashing out millions for us to go up"next Season"?

Your remark about getting really quality additions...what are ANY signings we make?...Surely every signing should be a QUALITY signing or are we just signing for the sake?

But like i said i aint into hammering any one player or the manager in particular...i'll hammer the fcuking lot!

Only a Leicester fan can see the phrase 'best player in the midfield' and use it as a negative.

I despair.

Im not ACTUALLY moaning about him being the best player in midfield.

Im moaning about erm......I actually have no fcuking clue what im moaning about to be honest.!

I do not think he is good enough anymore for LCFC and I have serious doubts that he is good enough for this level of football. His record over the last year is abysmal. If, as a club, we are having to go back to Wellens then we are in trouble.

Try and be a little objective.

Wellens over the last year:

6 months out injured.

A month's loan to Ipswich to regain fitness. He did well enough for Mick McCarthy to want to extend his loan.

Two FA cup games in a weak team after no games for a while.

Cardiff game where apparently he played well.

That is not abysmal !

As I said at the time he was a good choice for that game. As we needed to be hard to break down and keep possession, against derby it would be foolish to use him as we need to be attacking them. I would bring Knocky In for him and play 442.

Yet if you use stats he has been.

If you use stats RVP has scored 1 in his last 9, don't mean he's rubbish does it?

Most of the stats are for when he played for Ipswich when they were abysmal. Win percentage is a team stat, not an individual one.

I know that, you know that but some just quote the stats

Ok lets ignore the ten matches after his injury and look from March last year P12 W3 D2 L7. That is abysmal.

If we play two holding midfielders against Derby then we've really lost our confidence. They really are the epitome of an average division 2 team, not good enough to be top ten, not crap enough to be bottom six. They have two or three decent players you can call attacking threats, we have about 6 and should be looking to win the game, not hope for the best. Drinky, King, Knockaert and Dyer behind Nugent and Wood. The last couple of times we've played them they've been sh!tting themselves whenever we ran at them, I'm not sure Wellens has enough pace to strike fear into them :P

Damn it is His fault then

Where have I blamed him?

I have simply stated he isn't good enough, and quite frankly I feel that anyone who thinks he is, is quite frankly, deluded.

You can say anyone (Schmeichel?, Morgan?) who played in almost all those games was abysmal. Wellens was injured after 10 minutes of the West Ham game so you will have to find a different scapegoat for that loss.

Deluded is a bit strong, suggests that people aren't even thinking when they make their judgement.

He played well against Cardiff and I feel he's good enough to play the odd game here and there as cover for one of our CMs. To call people deluded for having that opinion is exaggerating in the extreme.

okie

Do you seriously believe Wellens is good enough nowadays?

I haven't seen Wellens play this season so I don't know. I just object to people cherry picking statistics to scapegoat players they don't like . I could use Fleckney's logic to blame Drinkwater for the current bad form, but it would be unfair to single him out.
