I would love Wellens to score tonight.

He very nearly did...

Nope. Just reflecting that someone with no axe to grind has spotted a slight issue with our team

No you weren't... you saw Wellens and the team and rushed to post "sack the twat"

Without waiting to see how it went - as so far we've largely controlled the game, heavily restricted them whilst making numerous good chances for ourselves.

It was the height of cuntery and sums quite a lot up

The height of cuntery? I'll text my Cardiff City supporting mate, who is actually at the game (unlike you or I) that his opinion on Waghorn makes him a ****.

I freely admit to to not rating Wellens and freely admit we are much better without him in the side. If that makes me a **** then I'm happily a ****.

Another text from my Cardiff mate (not told him he's guilty of cuntery yet) after I called him a jammy bastard

"A point more than we deserved. You were the better team 2nd half. Even until wellens went off for Kane. Schlupp is quality"

Worra **** I and he are

EDITED TO SAY AFTER I SAID SCHLUPP IS TECHNICALLY A STRIKER, AND I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP

"really? He played left back and had noone and then smith in his pocket.

why would you send one if(sic) your better players on trial mid season"

Odds on this 'Cardiff mate' being a figment of someone's imagination?

Feel free to doubt me, old Uni housemate and season ticket holder. He's still never forgiven me for not wanting to travel away to Bury and see Bhaitung Bhuta's (sic) Cardiff debut.

However going to watch Cardiff away at Macclesfield did spare me from going to a game in Oldham (I think) with a lad who turned out to be NF and involved in the race riots that day.

I'd like us to keep the same team against Derby. I'd imagine Wellens only came off because of fatigue. Hope he grows into the team a bit more, I found his performance against Cardiff very encouraging.

No way! He's only been involved in 10 games this season and his record for that is

Played 10 W1 D2 L7

You're not seriously using that against him are you? 7 of them were with Ipswich who were the worst team in the division at the time.

Welles was the best midfielder on the pitch last night. By a mile.

I was merely pointing out that I do not and cannot blame him for the 6 points from 24 or the 1 win in 9. I do feel it is fair to point out that his points per game over the last 20 games is around 0.5.

I do not think he is good enough anymore for LCFC and I have serious doubts that he is good enough for this level of football. His record over the last year is abysmal. If, as a club, we are having to go back to Wellens then we are in trouble.

I kind of get it. He had a poor season previously and I honestly thought he'd never play again. But we're having difficulties in the centre of midfield so we need to try other options, I don't expect him to play regularly but Wellens was good against Cardiff so I think he can be considered for selection. A lack of experience has been noted as a problem and perhaps Wellens can help others around him perform better even if he doesn't do quite so well himself?

I understand why you're sceptical about this and I would be too but things aren't going well at the moment so I'm not against trying to change things. To me this seems a sensible option.

Dont like hammering players BUT if we are still using Wellens then it shows we havent really progressed in the last couple of years considering how much money have we spent.

Rubbish.

The squad is showing signs of progression.

James, Drinky, Knocky, DeLaet are only going to get better IMO.

Just because we used Wellens in one game to compliment a tactical change don't mean that we aren't progressing as a squad.

I've always maintained its NEXT season that I think we'll be promoted, if Pearson stays and we retain the squad. Just a couple of real quality additions, especially in the midfield will make a big difference IMO. This season, though I'm hopeful, I believe my prediction of 7th will be the case.

I'm also expecting Wellens to leave in the summer.
