acooling08 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 We need to do it at the next rescheduled Home game. Not Derby.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I'd also like to ask how many people on here who want to protest against SKY actually have SKY (or their mums and dads?) That would be interesting.. I can feel a poll coming on...
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Why is it even frustrating mate? My usual Sundays (recovering from Sat night beers) consist of two Premier Leagues games in HD, followed by a little nap and then Spanish League football in the evening. Absolutely fookin brilliant! What did we used to have? Star Soccer? With Hugh Johns? The amount of our games affected is the frustrating bit mate!Bloody love Sky too and my lad gets it for FREE with Sky go at Uni so he's well happy Too
Matt Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Like I said a few weeks ago, someone who has contact with the players or someone who could try and contact the player via Twitter, e.t.c, should have tried getting one of/a few of them to get t-shirts printed for the players to wear their Leicester shirts and if/when they scored reveal the anti-Sky message on the t-shirt. Although they may get in trouble with the club/owners I guess. Would be very funny though and the best message/strongest message there could be on behalf of the fans.

That would be interesting.. I can feel a poll coming on... We have SKY but not the sports package, too expensive. There's nothing wrong with SKY covering a few games a year though, the annoying thing is that we seem to be getting the most disruption in the league, and it's overwhelmingly our home games getting moved. 3 or 4 games a season - Fine Half of our Saturday home games - Fvck off.

A club can't willingly accept SKY revenue on the one hand, then bleat if the times of games alter. Nor can the fans really... Well they can I guess, but won't get far I wouldn't suspect.
Voll Blau Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 People need to have the courage of their convictions on this. Either you want Saturday 3pm football or you don't. Either you think Sky is ****ing up the sport or you don't. Otherwise you might as well have two banners which say... SATURDAY 3 O'CLOCK ONLY! OK, MAYBE 5.20 TOO BUT NOTHING ELSE

Shouldn't you be blaming the CLUB... They've accepted the game time changes in order to gain SKY revenue haven't they? Perhaps the campaign/flags should be aimed at the Club for allowing this?
Voll Blau Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Any smoke bombs organised for this? Up for it! Evening officer.

Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Do I prefer Saturday 3.00pm? Yes it's tradition! Do I love Sky ....yes, so I can't be a hypocrite over it!

Swiss_tony Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 col city fan - you don't work for sky do you. see my disloyal thread for the things that have ruined the modern game. and sky money is one of them. if you're happy to sell your soul for 40 pieces of silver good on you, you're exactly the kind of fan sky and the prem want, you'll accept anything they do as long as the money is rolling in, and pat yourself on the back in the process. for some of us, that isn't acceptable. 7 games on a sat at 3pm is an insult to the working man.
Marmite Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 You can protest all you want it wont change anything. Unfortunately it is something we have got to learn to adjust too. Football is a business as well as a sport and a lot of clubs rely on the money from Sky. I miss Saturday 3pm kick offs like everyone else but you just have to get on with it

How many more times...? You can debate the right and wrongs for as long as you like. Are you not reading or wanting to step onto your 'holier than thou' soapbox. Personally, as I made clear, I'm over the moon that the Derby game is on SKY. I'm a 'working man' you arrogant fooker and I can't afford to go to Derby. Finally, if you are crying about Sat afternoon games being moved, blame the Club.. They must have accepted the changes in order to get SKY money.
Kitchandro Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 People need to have the courage of their convictions on this. Either you want Saturday 3pm football or you don't. Either you think Sky is ****ing up the sport or you don't. Otherwise you might as well have two banners which say... SATURDAY 3 O'CLOCK ONLY! OK, MAYBE 5.20 TOO BUT NOTHING ELSE Sorry but it really isn't that clear cut. There is no doubt in my mind that Sky offers some quality programming, not just the sports but the movies, the plus 1 channels and the ability to record numerous shows from all of these channels. I don't mind Sky moving a match now and then either, there should be significant notice though. But the amount of home games we've had moved this season is excessive. They are abusing the powers our clubs have inexplicably agreed to let them have. I mean, they have the right to deduct us points? What's that all about? (Personally I'd be calling their bluff on that one. How is that going to be explained?) So, the bottom line is, Sky is good, but they're taking the piss. I don't demand every match be 3PM kick offs, but there's a point where they've gone too far. So yeh, I'll bitch and complain, I don't think it is fair on a lot of fans, personally it doesn't make that much difference to me, if I want to go to a home match I can at pretty much whatever time, and I've seen more games than I would have because of Sky this season in fact, but I'm not selfish enough to ignore the fact that it does piss a lot of other fans off. And also, it impacts on our attendances and atmospheres, which not only make the club look bad but potentially hinder our performance, in theory. Would things change if everyone in Britain cancelled their sky subscriptions? Sure. Would it be worth it? No. Is a significant people cancelling them even remotely realistic? No.
Kitchandro Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Great attitude. No in this instance it really won't make a difference. Protesting about how the club is treating you is one thing, but protesting to Sky? why on earth would they give a fvck?

You gotta roll with the times Swiss Tony I loved my days at Filbo from being a starry eyed 6 year old in 1969 at my first game through to the sad last game but that's history! I love the game of football and for me Sky has helped with its quality and exposure!Love the past and tradition but really love the present and future too. Each to their own!

But what about the generation who never got to experience what you did. Don't they deserve some semblance of a matchday experience (for want of a better phrase) that resembles those of your youth?
jonthefox Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 With a considerable amount of our games moved this season and us only having 7 home games on a Saturday(3pm) I think a protest is in order against BSKyB, possibly on Saturday at Derby? I was thinking on the 7th minute that all traveling Leicester fans could turn the back away from the pitch maybe and sing something like this. Fvck off Sky, Fvck off Sky stop changing our home games fvck off sky. Any other suggestions welcome A home game would be better. Millwall?.

The thing is with nostalgia , your memory is very selective! We didn't have PSs Xbox etc etc....time moves on!
