Ashley Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 With a considerable amount of our games moved this season and us only having 7 home games on a Saturday(3pm) I think a protest is in order against BSKyB, possibly on Saturday at Derby? I was thinking on the 7th minute that all traveling Leicester fans could turn the back away from the pitch maybe and sing something like this. Fvck off Sky, Fvck off Sky stop changing our home games fvck off sky. Any other suggestions welcome
Matt Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Protest all you like, it's not going to change anything. TBH I question if a boycott would even change anything.
Harry - LCFC Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I think there are better games to do it at. Derby is at an acceptable time so I don't think it's a great one to try and make a point out, it'd be a bit out of context if you see what I mean. Much better to do it at our home games coming up as those are the ones that people are displeased about.
Voll Blau Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 The best protest is to cancel your subscription. Would be amazing to see our whole end turn their backs and sing **** off Sky though.
cambridgefox Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Yeah, perhaps we could refuse the revenue they give us.That will show them! Futile I'm afraid.
Libertine Dream Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Would look great but not many would do it as they wouldn't know what was going on. Wouldn't make any difference but at least you'll have registered your protest rather than just moaning on message boards.
Fox92 Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 I would happily join in, but I'm not going Derby this year. It probably won't make any difference at all, but, I would like to see a few hundred do something.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Isn't there a phrase? 'Dont bite the hand that feeds'... SKY is here to stay fellas... Get over it If we get promoted, the revenue we get next season from SKY will pay for the very calibre of player you all crave.

I don't crave those players you mention, I crave a team I would be proud of, and it is achievable even if people say times have changed and this is how it is yadda yadda.
Guest Bilo Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 NA NA NA NA NA NA MURDOCH IS A CVNT, IS A CVNT, IS A CVNT MURDOCH IS A CVNT Repeat ad nauseam or till final whistle.

So you wouldn't want the money to sign some really good players to stay in the Premier League? Do you think it grows on trees? And what's '****ed up' exactly? I subscribe to SKY and watch some great games that I'd never be able to afford to go to see otherwise. SKY coverage is second to none IMO. It's a competitive market. We need SKY money just like any other club. Whether this is 'right or wrong' can be debated until time immemorial. Don't mean you're gonna change it.

Guest Col city fan Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Doesn't the same phrase ring true of the way fans are treated. Fans are treated shockingly by most clubs. Just look at ticket prices for most people.

iancognito Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 The real question you need to ask is "if we're getting all this appearance money from Sky, why are you still putting ticket prices up and charging us over £30 for an adult home ticket?" The only noticeable protest that might work is turning your backs from the kick-off and not actually watching the game at all. Would get the attention of one or two photographers but Sky have got control of the mic's and have 30 camera angles and can avoid showing the away fans if they want so don't expect anything to be shown or heard.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Sky money is rather like giving a crack head free crack.

As I said, you can argue the rights and wrongs until time immemmorial. Personally I'd rather be inside the tent spitting out than outside spitting in. I'm over the moon the Derby game is on SKY personally. I couldn't afford to go so Ill be watching it at home or down the local.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 March 2013 Posted 14 March 2013 Borg Syndrome......"Resistance is Futile" The amount of money Sky have pumped into the game has enabled us to see some amazing games with some phenomenal players who wouldn't be on show without Sky funding! Frustrating yes English football without it....fvcked
Ashley Posted 14 March 2013 Author Posted 14 March 2013 Cringeworthy chant Excellent contribution Walkers have you been to a Leicester game yet?

Frustrating yes English football without it....fvcked Why is it even frustrating mate? My usual Sundays (recovering from Sat night beers) consist of two Premier Leagues games in HD, followed by a little nap and then Spanish League football in the evening. Absolutely fookin brilliant! What did we used to have? Star Soccer? With Hugh Johns?
