Leicfox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 5) Zaha plays for a team from London - Teams in London are fashionable, get more publicity and press exposure. I think that's probably spot on. Look at Tom Ince for example, he's playing at Blackpool which is on the doorstep of some big Northwest clubs and is arguably a better player and although Ince will move on eventually I bet his fee will be considerably less than the Zaha fee.
FoxesFan123 Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Are some of you deluded? Knockys been total crap over the past few weeks, doesn't even deserve to be in the first team for a championship club struggling to get any points on the board. Compare that to a player whose been tearing up the championship for years and just singed for £15million, yes £15million, to the soon to be crowned champions on England. I don't think Knocky is anywhere near the level of Zaha. I love him to bits and I'm not slagging Knocky off, he's the kind of player I wanna see in a leicester shirt but Zaha will go on to be a great, great player who will win plenty of trophies at the highest level.

I wouldn't go that far. He's a quick winger with some quality but there's nothing to suggest he's a world beater yet. In fact I've seen him in numerous matches where he's looked technically poor. Knockaert will go on to be a good Premiership player in time, he does need to be played in his proper position though, and he needs to learn a lot.
cjslcfc Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Knocky, unlike Zaha, is not an out and out winger. He is not the type to sprint down the wing and put in a deadly cross, it's just not his game. He is a playmaker. Someone to link the strikers and midfield. The one to bring a goal out of nothing (e.g Huddersfield). He is not consistent but this is possibly down to 1)Being young, 2) Getting used to the English game 3) Being played in the wrong position, 4) Possibly being overplayed in his first season in a highly intense league... and I could name many more reasons. He will get better and be a much more consistent player as he develops. I have no doubts that if he doesnt get to the Premier League with us, he will find his own way there. I see him as a future Arsenal player. He has the technical ability, the flair etc.. All he needs to develop is consistency and he needs to get used to the English game. He is undoubtedly very talented and I'm glad we have him. Even if he's been sh*t recently
ozleicester Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Is it a coincidence that Knocky has been off the boil and so have the team.. Which came first the chicken or the egg?
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 I recollect a similar thread earlier in the season whereby a comparison was being made between Ince and Marshall (after we beat Blackpool at home). I said at the time that I thought Ince to be a far superior player to Marshall. And I think the same of Zaha. Knocky can be great on his day but who would you really rather have in your side? Zaha or Knocky? It's a no-brainer for me.
Callabinho Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 I personally believe Bolasie is better than Zaha. I agree.
Babylon Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Pearson's Hull struggled to score goals yet with a new manager and coaching staff they are one of the more exciting teams to watch and score regularly. You speak like Bruce hasn't spent the best part of £10m on new players... and we've scored more than them still.
Reynard Bleu Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 I think Mr Knockknees still has a lot of development in front of him, particularly temprement wise. His decision making meeds to improve and he needs to find a level of consistency that fuels our game rather than just the odd burst of brilliance (although he needs to retain that too. Great potential, loads of skill, but a bit too French at the moment. Zaha, only know what I see on telly and that tends to be the really good stuff.
J.Lisemore Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 A lot of good valid points made in this thread, I'd say Zaha is the better developed player at the moment, but there's a lot more to come from Knockaert.
marbelladave Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Worth considering, Zaha is playing under Holloway and getting better, pretty much game on game...... Knockaert is playing under NFP and getting worse, pretty much game on game...... Just a thought.........
Babylon Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Worth considering, Zaha is playing under Holloway and getting better, pretty much game on game...... Knockaert is playing under NFP and getting worse, pretty much game on game...... Just a thought......... What's worth considering exactly? Firstly you have no idea of Zaha or his performances really. Secondly Knockaerts form has been up and down all season. It's not been on just a downward trend as he was poor earlier in the season before getting better again. Zaha has lived in this country for 16 years and played 133 times for palace, Knockart has lived here since the summer and has played 39 games for us... almost 100 less.
Corky Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Zaha is the best player in the world, but we don't want to discuss it.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 See babs post above. Silly to compare the two really, for what it's worth I think Knocky is doing really well generally (current form aside)

Bettsj2 Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 There is nothing about Knocky's game that is superior to Zaha. That doesnt mean Knocky isnt an amazing, exciting footballer, just that Zaha is better. If Knocky had a couple of extra yards of pace, it may be a different story.

Being serious for a moment, Zaha is a pacy, direct winger/striker. Knockaert is primarily a passing, playmaker type of player. Not remotely the same kind of player. It is only our tactical inflexibility that requires that he plays on the wing.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Knockaert has a tiny willy, Zaha has massive balls. Zaha is therefore the better player at the minute, which, is why he signed for Manu. You have to have big teste to okay for united. Do I have to think of everything?
Babylon Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Just trying to lighten the mood Babs, no need to get your knickers in a twist......... My mood will not lighten I'm afraid.

marbelladave Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 My mood will not lighten I'm afraid. Oh dear, Shall I tell you the one about Nigel Pearson, the french winger and Leeds United? The reply was in the context of the thread but I do take your point. Understood...... But there is a far better discussion to be had as to what is Knockaerts best position and, in my view, why he is not playing there.
