Dan Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 I personally think he's a better technical player but not as good physically, both very strong prospects but I'd assume Zaha is more suited to the English game.
Kitchandro Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 I personally think he's a better technical player but not as good physically, both very strong prospects but I'd assume Zaha is more suited to the English game. This.
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Zaha can dribble at pace and take on people, he can't finish nor can he pass. Reminds me of how Antonio Valencia used too be. Where as Knockaert can finish and pass, and dribble. Put it this way, if Knockaert was as quick as Zaha he'd of been gone in January.
Dan Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 I maintain the only reason Man Utd went for Zaha over him is because he's English.
Number 6 Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Right now I would personally rather have Zaha, but Knockaert certainly has potential to be as good, if not better, than him.
GingerrrFox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Reasons why Zaha has gone to a massive Premier League club and Kncokaert hasn't. 1) Zaha is English - in the Champions League top English players are like gold dust. 2) Zaha has better physical ability - faster, taller, stronger. 3) Zaha is more consistent - Although I personally believe when both are on top form Knockaert is a better player, Zaha is way more consistent, sometimes Knockaert is woeful due to the selfishness and shooting from all angles even when the pass is a better option. 4) Zaha has been played in the position that suits him - Zaha is an out and out winger and has been played there by Palace. Knockaert in France played as a second striker or as an attacking central midfielder, Knockaert is much more suited to that role than being on the wing due to his lack of pace. 5) Zaha plays for a team from London - Teams in London are fashionable, get more publicity and press exposure.

You can't (within reason) train to be faster. I think Zaha has bigger potential as a winger, but I can see Knockaert in an 'Santi Cazorla' position in the future. I personally think they're completely different players but worth the same. Zaha's inflated price tag is purely because he's English IMO.
AyewJoking Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Pearson rejected a £20 million offer from Man Utd for Knockaert so Fergie had to make do with Zaha instead.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Zaha's better. Knockaert can be very good but he's fallen off form rather drastically of late to the point where he can be very ineffective. I think he's started to believe his own hype and is trying to over-play to a certain extent.
flowwolf Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 No contest .Zaha has done it for a couple of seasons and just gets better, Knockaert did it for half a season and has fizzled out big time.
ADK Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Knockaert-gives-the ball-away is pretty average at the moment. He gets overrated due to what i call the "foreign factor" and the "flair factor" whereby our fans overrate an average player due to them either being foreign and thus mystical (think abe) or because they have more flair (think bamba). The best wingers in this division are Tom Ince and Wilfred Zaha imo. Tom Ince 18 goals, 11 assists Wilfred Zaha 6 goals, 8 assists Knockaert 7 goals, 4 assists

seenitall Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Just another player who comes into us with talent and then ends up looking like an also ran......wonder why
ADK Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Just another player who comes into us with talent and then ends up looking like an also ran......wonder why I do think we need a new attacking coach. Our defenders look good but we look increasingly like we don't know how to create chances or score.
Munshi Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 I do think we need a new attacking coach. Our defenders look good but we look increasingly like we don't know how to create chances or score. Shouldnt 2nd division players at least know when to play the ball into a goalscoring opportunity? I agree with what your saying but it seems like whenever the players arent playing well its automatically the coaches fault.

dmayne7 Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 I personally believe Bolasie is better than Zaha. Said this before. Zaha will be a superstar no doubt but so I think if Knocky can be more a bit more consistent then he could be the man to take over Ribery's role in the French team for the next 10 years.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Knocky is a more skilful exciting player to watch but Zaha edges it with pace height etc

Some players are better than others at working out what needs doing without alot of guidance whereas some need more direction. Often younger players fall into the latter catagory and our team is full of younger players. It was clear on saturday that we had no idea of what we needed to do to be an attacking threat, it was painful how easy we were to defend against. It was also telling that the player who has just come back from training with another team was our best attacking threat and scored a goal. Pearson's Hull struggled to score goals yet with a new manager and coaching staff they are one of the more exciting teams to watch and score regularly.

But with hull they've changed to a more attacking 3-5-2 and have signed their attacking players.
