Sack him now!

Warnock is the most overrated manager in the English football league system. I don't think I'm even exaggerating by saying that.

His teams invariably play awful football, kid referees and are nowhere as effective as you might think. He took years to get promoted with Sheffield United and came straight back down, and spent millions getting QPR promoted. If not for Adel Taarabt, they'd have been an expensive failure.

Key word there re Adel Taarabt being IF........

IF Nugent hadnt had a meltdown friday night we'd be in the play off places....... IF kermogant hadnt bloody chipped it we may have been an established premier league side......... IF mandaric hadn't appointed Holloway we might not have been relegated to league one............see what im getting at?

Not really because it hardly refutes my point that, based on his career record, Warnock would represent no improvement over Pearson.

No one has said Nige is the worst we've ever had, but just because he's less shit than our worst doesn't make him OK - just slightly less shit than some of the others. But not good enough

Really, I'd have to disagree there, as Warnocks led QPR, Sheffield united and Notts County to the top tier of the english game. Struggling to think of what Nigel has on his managerial cv that betters that.

How many tries did he need with Sheffield United?

How much did he spend at QPR?

When did he manage it with Notts County?

How did they all do at the next level?

None of the answers will make pleasant reading for Warnock advocates.

Yes, over the man who, on current form will take "big spending Leicester city" back into league one.

Current form. Meaning that it's not the way it always is, just currently.

Whilst I, and the majority of people on here labelled as Pearson fanatics or whatever, aren't excusing the shocking run of form at the moment, and it is shocking, with a slightly more level headed and longer term view of what's happened and what could happen, I'd imagine some of those people would prefer him to stay because

A) he and his team clearly have had us playing some very very good football and would rather see somebody build on that by learning from failures and developing consistency.

B) he clearly has done a decent job with regard to wage structure and future value of the current assets of the club (I.e. players bought relatively cheap and rising in value) which also assists with future proposed regulations.

and C) What realistic alternatives are there that can 'guarantee' promotion without going out and blowing another load of cash on players and starting from scratch again.

Personally I'm prepared to give him another transfer window to add to and adjust his squad if we don't make it this season.

I also appreciate I'm probably not in a majority on here but so be it.

Gary Megson has won a few promotions. Would you want him back?

Seven years, with one play-off in the first six.

Did a good job at QPR getting them up, I'll give him that.

1991.

He's a total failure in the top flight.

Total failure in the top flight??? His record for QPR was far better than both Hughes and Redknapp (who was reguarded by some as the nailed on next england manager) despite spending far less than said managers.

Yes, he's had two full seasons with two relegations. He got sacked at QPR for being shit as well at the top flight game. He won 4 games last season, Hughes won 6.

Should have got Di Canio

Just watched him after the game (on MOTD). How we could benefit from some of that passion at the club at the moment. The Macams were going loopy!

lol

Was the perfect game for him. Derbies often come down the sheer passion and commitment to the cause. I'm glad we didn't go for him to be honest.

What, you mean like our recent 'Derby' game with Derby?

A more impassionate performance from City you never will see..

Warnock won 4 in 20. Hughes won 6 in 18.

One has a win percentage of 20%. The other has a 33% win percentage from last season.

Just shows the passion and commitment our players and manager lack.

No but Dan would claim Sven is!

As far as leaving us in a mess financially, he's up there with the absolute worst, it's statistically proven.

Look, I'll reason with you here. Sven had his good points. I thought in 2010/11 he did make something of a very much under-achieving side, we played some excellent football and we soared the division. Ironically, a defeat in February (at Cardiff) seemed to derail his entire tenure, we were inconsistent and bottled it again that year (although not nearly to this extent). He made some very good loan signings, and although he largely wasted money, he has brought in some very good players.

But with financial rules coming in soon, where was his consideration? A million quid to get a bloke on loan who hadn't played in years? 6 central midfielders going for how many spots in the team? Players like Danns, Beckford, Mills, St Ledger and even eventually players like Wellens & Gallagher all on Premiership wages? If we'd kept going at the rate he was spending at (and with the lack of quality too) we wouldn't possibly do a Portsmouth, we'd almost certainly.

The bloke never gave a single shit about Leicester City. His lack of financial control (it isn't hard) and a quote saying he hadn't watched us for months after we'd sacked him pretty much tells the story. Good when it started, shambolic afterwards.

I guarantee if Warnock was trying that was Sheff Utd/Notts County today then he'd never have got the time. Could you imagine if he'd produced what he did there at Leicester with the way we are today?

He did very well at QPR though in my opinion. I know he did have Taarabt but he used him effectively, something that seems very hard to do. Amazing talent but absolutely piss poor attitude.

And that, admittedly, is something he has over Pearson. However I'll say this, I don't think any of Beckford, Danns etc.. possess the ability Taarabt does.

They do however have more ability than some first teamers in our current squad imo, if the best could be squeezed out of them.

Beckford could've probably played better than Nugent or Wood have lately, but even so, I don't see why we should lower ourselves to players who've got absolutely zero interest. He's got some ability, no doubt about it, but I stress 'some', he can finish, but other than that he's extremely average and we pay him a Premier League wage. If you could guarantee getting the best from Beckford, then fair enough, but you're more likely to not get the best when he's not arsed.

And Danns? He's got no more ability than Drinkwater, James or King IMO. Feel free to disagree, he's got more pace than those three but they're all better footballers.
