raba Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Seems like a few of you guys like Jonathan Parr! When on form he's a tidy left back & was our POTY last season. Also seen Bolasie mentioned, for me he's been a better player than Zaha this season & was a bargain for £300k. If he works on his end product then he'll be a dangerous winger.

Zaha is over-rated anyway. Not just some jealous fan here....but his goal and assist tally for this season is terrible. He is probably the most skillful player in the league, but he lacks end product at the minute.

In his defence he was superb up until all the talk of the big clubs coming in with big bucks and a full England call up. I think it was a lot to take on board as a youngster. I am proud that another of our acadamy lads is now playing for one of the Big Four.

Fox92 Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Left back. Right back. Tough midfielder. Winger (then Knockaert can play behind).
Johnny Cash Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 And Bertrand would happen? The same Bertrand who started the champions league final last year? Maybe when we appoint RDM You saved me from having to point that out.
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Liam Trotter Been in the Millwall forum and none of them seem to like/rate him, although I always have done.
iamafox Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Some good young players we could sign on loan from the PL: Daniel Potts Alex Kacaniklic Nick Powell Benik Afobe Ross Barkley Josh McEachran Jon Flanagan

Aus Fox Posted 4 April 2013 Posted 4 April 2013 No doubt a manager with a brain will bring Danns back in next season. But I agree another CM like Trotter, JET, Sako to fit in at CM wouldn't go a miss Really? Because he is doing so well for Huddersfield? Since he and Beckford went their they have gone from a solid mid table team looking to push on to a bottom three side who look like they will go down this season. Says it all really. Both Danns and Beckford are overpaid and over rated.
Langston Posted 4 April 2013 Posted 4 April 2013 Antonio - Shef wednesday He's had an excellent season for Wednesday, must be gutting for them that he's missing the rest of the season. Pushed them into the League One automatics after we poached Marshall from Stoke. However, and I'm sure the Wednesday lads on here will be much more qualified to judge than me - but his first touch / technique seems a little 'inconsistent' at times from what I've seen. Then again, we're a second tier club, nobody we sign will be perfect. I wonder if Lee Wallace of Rangers is a realistic shout given how severely Konchesky has gone off the boil this season. I'm not certain what Kemy Agustien's situation is at Swansea but I'm sure he could add a bit of class if he was available on loan.
Dan Posted 4 April 2013 Posted 4 April 2013 Oh and Vaclav Kadlec from Sparta Prague, not sure we could get him for the championship though Ademilson too?
GingerrrFox Posted 4 April 2013 Posted 4 April 2013 First off I would get rid of Gallagher, Dyer, Whitbread, Futacs and Vardy (loan) Winger - Bakary Sako (Wolves) - I know someone earlier said that he would be an unlikely signing but he has said he wants to stay in England and he's not gonna hang round at Wolves if they get relegated thats 100% certain. Central Midfielder - Liam Bridcutt (Brighton) - he will have a stormer of a game on Saturday, proper defensive midfielder who has exceptional passing and a good football brain. LB - Martin Olsson (Blackburn) - If we get promoted then we might have a shot at him, if we stay in the Championship then we won't. Blackburn are lucky that he stayed this season, international for Sweden and is a very good attacking left back. CB - Miles Addison (Bournemouth) - This lads an absolute beast in League 1, should be able to prise him away relatively cheap even if Bournemouth get promoted. Striker - Jelle Vossen (Genk) - Poacher in the same mould as Fryatt but more pace, better finisher, scored goals at international level for Belgium and if we got promoted to the Premiership he would obviously move from Belgian football to England.

Bridcutt would cost a pretty penny. Proven, young, talented and English. Vossen wouldn't be a bad shout if we were a lower to mid-table Premier League side, though KRC wouldn't sell on the cheap. I used keep an eye on Genk (very randomly - I think I they won me a bet once and a soft spot developed) and they had a guy called Ogunjimi / Oganjomi (sp) who seems to have completely disappeared off the radar after looking shit hot a few years back. Like a clinical Lloyd Dyer. So there's my final suggestion of the evening. That Belgian chap who's vanished, but looked the business 3/4 years ago when I had a fleeting interest in Genk. Sign him up Nige. Ideally I'd like Wolves to go down and Leigh Griffiths to kick up a fuss and demand a move. Such an impressive record for Hibernian this season. Seems a bit of a ****, though.

Yeah Bridcutt would cost probably £5 million+ but if we got promoted that would be chump change with the money involved in the Premiership next season, he would be an easy starter in our midfield though, a midfield of him and James/King would be very good in my humble opinion. Hahaha yeah you're right about Marvin Ogunjimi, yeah he was shit hot for Genk and then he moved to Mallorca but didn't set the world alight so they've loaned him out. I think Vossen would be awesome in English football, Belgium is one of those countries where the football transfers well to English football, very similar. You only have to look at Belgian players in the Premiership already (Lukaku, Mirallas, Benteke, Kompany, Vertonghen etc etc etc etc) to see how well they perform here.
