Tempwan Yierban Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Nope, I can see your IP address and it shows all your Pseudonyms. He could just block it if he wanted. Still you could get around that if you could be arsed. Tried a proxy but no luck. I think I have to accept I've been beaten by the 'man' and the system has ground me down. Also, I have a startling revelation about that IP thing, which you may or may not know - if you do know, you'll be shocked at some of the arguments! Teehee! Bonjour!
l444ry Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Most of what I've read in this thread reinforces the right wing bible's view.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2095549/Right-wingers-intelligent-left-wingers-says-controversial-study--conservative-politics-lead-people-racist.html
Bellend Sebastian Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 I think when opinions are so polarized it's always a very sensible idea to seek out the opinion of someone who enjoys the complete respect of everyone on all sides. It's Russell Brand!: http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/apr/09/russell-brand-margaret-thatcher I posted this mainly because in a lot of ways his experience is similar to mine (although I should point out that I've never seen Thatcher watering the flowers or been a heroin addict or married to Katy Perry - the last two could yet happen), at least in that we're both the same age, but also because he's a far more reasoned and sensible bloke than most of you scamps will give him credit for
Alf Bentley Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Element of truth to that, I was very left wing in my late teens and started to change in my mid 20's when I started to travel the World. Most of what I've read in this thread reinforces the right wing bible's view.... http://www.dailymail...ple-racist.html "Right-wing views make the less intelligent feel 'safe' ", according to research cited by, er, The Daily Mail Is this conclusive proof that greater maturity and experience of the world left MattP less intelligent than he was before?!?
BoneDog Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 It says on the news that some anti capitalists are planning to protest at Margret Thatcher's funeral. Not sure what protesting to a dead person would ever achieve apart from ugly scenes and a larger police bill. If they cause a scene at a funeral it just makes them look like dicks. How they think they'll ever win new support for their cause with such actions I don't know, and you'd hope that most people in those groups have sense and will decide not to bother going along.

The Doctor Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Most of what I've read in this thread reinforces the right wing bible's view.... http://www.dailymail...ple-racist.html So, what exactly does it say? The Daily Mail is replaced by tea and kittens on my laptop...
Lamby Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 So, what exactly does it say? The Daily Mail is replaced by tea and kittens on my laptop... Trying to hide the child porn from the police then?
The Doctor Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Trying to hide the child porn from the police then? Strange as this may sound, I don't tend to keep my porn collection on the daily mail website, it's usually stored on my hard-drive.
BoneDog Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 - Pretty sure the one re. Suharto is right, too; DK re. Khmer Rouge Suharto was scum of the highest order, and definitely had much support from the West. As nobody is using intellectual language or archaic phrasing to make themselves sound more intelligent than they actually are, or talking about how wonderful the dictators in Syria and Iran are, I'm going with none. I haven't heard what Galloway has to say on any of this but TBF about Syria and Iran, while I'm not a big fan of their leaders, they are far better for their countries than any alternatives the West is proposing. That guy we were backing in the 'green revolution' in Iran is awful and has been involved in much mess, and so are the replacements lined up for Syria. Syria is in a far bigger state right now than it ever was in recent years, and it's citizens are in far more danger than they were under Assad. All these killings and terrorist attacks were not happening until small groups of so called revolutionaries and terrorists were sent in with arms to hijack the peaceful protests and start shooting police. Now they have destroyed the place, and worse is probably to come. Everybody in Syria is now worse off and they're in deep trouble. Heartbreaking.
Guest MattP Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Is this conclusive proof that greater maturity and experience of the world left MattP less intelligent than he was before?!? Certainly an argument for that. I feel thicker than I was ten years ago.
The Doctor Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 I haven't heard what Galloway has to say on any of this I'm not sure what we're still talking about, but if it's Thatcher's death then the headline on the local paper is "Thatcher should burn in hell-fire", says Galloway
yorkie1999 Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 So, what exactly does it say? The Daily Mail is replaced by tea and kittens on my laptop... Basically, she taught us how to be selfish. My mistake, i was reading the russell brand article.
Alf Bentley Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Certainly an argument for that. I feel thicker than I was ten years ago. Strange the associations my aging and demented brain can make... On reading that, I suddenly got a mental burst of "Thick as Thieves" by The Jam ("No, we're not as thick as we used to be; No, we're no longer as thick as thieves!") You might be losing it, Matt, but sometimes I think that I've lost the plot completely...
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Not very good at home policies, but brilliant at foreign ones. RIP Maggie.
Guest MattP Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 Diane Abbott is a bag of shit, She's turned into Winnie Mandela over the last few years.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 So, what exactly does it say? The Daily Mail is replaced by tea and kittens on my laptop... It was a piece they ran a year or so back on a study that had basically concluded that there was a link between low intelligence and being right wing. I posted it on here and unsurprisingly many on here poured scorn on the findings (in line with the Mail's own comments section), but for me the main point of interest was not whether there was any merit in the story but why the buggery were the Mail posting a such a story in the first place, given the views and demographic of their readership. I asked, but couldn't remember if it had appeared in the print version - I suspect it didn't. The fact that most of their print readership will be dead within 15 years is probably why they're repositioning themselves as an online provider of content, which means a different audience and apparently a different message, although most of the poisonous shit from the paper still seems to find its way onto the website. I don't really look at the website anymore, partly for my own sanity but also because the footfall indirectly raises revenue for them, unlike me skimming through my Gran's copy
Larry_LCFC Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 At the end of the day, she made some unpopular decisions but ultimately she saved this country when it was on its knees. She stuck by her principals and fought for what she believed in. Maybe if we had someone like her in power today, we wouldnt be such a push over and a laughing stock.

It was North Sea Oil that did that.
