St George's day...

He may be the patron saint of England except the word English does not exist anymore. Just see if you can find it on any official forms.

I think you'll find the word does exist, otherwise I've no idea what language I'm writing in.

St George's day sucks ass. Just loads of people who couldnt usually give a toss about being English moaning about not enough people giving a toss about being English.

Just been into town and frightened some poncy looking European al fresco diners with a big plank of wood, before knocking over the chairs and turning the table upside down, all while drinking a pint of Stella and being draped in a St George cross. Loving it.

What exactly is there to celebrate?

What is the point of a patron Saint?

Why is ours a made up character?

He is not made up, the image of him slaying a dragon demonstrative not literal, the dragon represents Satan and evil and he is saving us from them, the legend comes from that, but he is as real as any other patron saint and the historical accuracy is as accurate as it can be for a someone from the 3rd century AD.

As for the point? No idea some religious mumbo jumbo.

You come across as the most miserable person on the forum.

Some people like to enjoy life. Get over it.
