Sydney the Fox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 And just how do you propose we get rid of them. They're on contracts, the only thing we can do is try and use them whether we like it or not. or make it clear they are not part of our plans and they can rot in the reserves etc etc
hackneyfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 or make it clear they are not part of our plans and they can rot in the reserves etc etc If some of them are on 20k, some have claimed Beckford is on a lot more, why would they leave for a lower salary of say 5k? The older players players know this is the last big pay cheque, they won't leave, we need to pay them off before the end of the financial season.
hackneyfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 I'd like to get sako, Ebanks Blake/Gayle, Trotter/Gelson Fernandez, Olsonn and Figueroa Out I think futacs, konchesky, Wellens, Gallagher, Whitbread, Beckford, danns To buy those players would pro ally cost 6m and about 30-40k a week and selling those players we'd get about 4m and 35-40k on wages 4m for those players with ffp coming? I don't see that happening.
kingfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Sako this Sako that. Just because he scored a belter against us, doesn't mean he is a class above, his team are getting relegated.
Grewks Posted 28 April 2013 Author Posted 28 April 2013 Sako this Sako that. Just because he scored a belter against us, doesn't mean he is a class above, his team are getting relegated. More goals and assists than marshall, dyer, knocky. Therefore he is 'a class above'.
kingfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 More goals and assists than marshall, dyer, knocky. Therefore he is 'a class above'. Wouldn't be surprised if he heads back abroad. Would cost too much anyway probably.
john ridley Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 arnt we due a second payment from bolton for matt mills?
peach0000 Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 So let me get this right get rid of 7 players 5 of which don't play and replace them with 7 possible first team players... seems a bit wastefull
Grewks Posted 28 April 2013 Author Posted 28 April 2013 So let me get this right get rid of 7 players 5 of which don't play and replace them with 7 possible first team players... seems a bit wastefull You telling me our depth is good enough at the moment? Simple answer - no. We need a new full back to replace konch, center back cover due to keane leaving, a couple in central midfield who can either score goals or prevent them, not run around looking lost (King or Drinky for example), someone out wide who can score or create and take the pressure off knocky, and another striker up front who has more quality and consistency than nuge.
kingfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 One midfielder I would take a serious look at is Luke Murphy of Crewe. The lad is quality, voted their clubs player of the year, and has now just been named in the PFA League 1 team of the year. Tall physical lad as well, who can score goals.

Don't need that many new first team players many 2 or 3 max
ousefox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Trotter was on the bench in millwall's semi. St ledger started at CM. What's the obsession with him?!
NewburyFox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 If only it was this simple to get rid of the high earners. Either the players will have to take huge wage cuts or we're going to have to continue to pay some of/all of their wages. What a mess. We're going to need a centre back to replace keane as a priority, a new LB to replace Konchesky if we can get rid (which I doubt unfortunately), a centre midfielder and hopefully a winger to go with it. One midfielder I would take a serious look at is Luke Murphy of Crewe. The lad is quality, voted their clubs player of the year, and has now just been named in the PFA League 1 team of the year. Tall physical lad as well, who can score goals. Can see him going straight to the Premier League. One of the brightest talents of Crewe's renowned academy won't come here. I would've liked for us to go for Matt Ritchie in January when Swindon sold him on the cheap, but never mind.
kingfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Don't need that many new first team players many 2 or 3 max That a joke? I think we need at least 6.

I would've liked for us to go for Matt Ritchie in January when Swindon sold him on the cheap, but never mind. He has been linked with Villa, but I would love it if he came here or we were actually linked with him, quality youngster. Alan Judge has been named in the team of the year as well, might be worth a look at.
NewburyFox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 That a joke? I think we need at least 6. At least? I'd suggest 4, maybe 5 at a push. CB, LB, CM, and a winger I'd say. Another striker wouldn't go amiss either, Vardy has been a flop.
peach0000 Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 That a joke? I think we need at least 6. We don't need too many players we need a team that knows how to play with each other and that is lost if the squad is to big. Also we may need 6 players but not instead of 6 that won't play.

Another centre back, two if St Ledger or Whitbread leaves Definitely a new left-back A new central midfielder A new attacking midfielder And finally another striker, as Vardy and Futacs will go

If James continues like this he'll be a nailed on starter next year, then Drinkwater, king and an attacking midfielder is more than enough.
kingfox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 We only need one centre midfielder for me. If James continues like this he'll be a nailed on starter next year, then Drinkwater, king and an attacking midfielder is more than enough. We need experience, Drinky isn't good enough either.
ozleicester Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 If we end up getting rid of the likes of... kasper konch wellens gallagher danns nuge beckford Would you be happy if we replaced them with.... Steele cunningham trotter sako tomlin ebanks-blake gayle ??? Would save a lot of money, 2 of the above are out of contract, 3 play for relegated sides (well wolves are pretty much gone), and the other 3 play for tinpot posh and barnsley respectively. I know a lot of our fans like kasper and nuge, and they do have a lot of quality, i think sometimes the only way for a squad to improve is to get rid of 2-3 of their quality players to add another 4-5. Brilliant, lets get rid of anything decent and replace them with "young hungry" players that should ensure promotion. This years plan to cut our costs has paid enormous dividends.... cut a few more we should be guaranteed a midtable finish
LCFC FOX 1884 Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 4m for those players with ffp coming? I don't see that happening. Konchesky=750,000 Gallagher=600,000 Futacs=500,000 Vardy=750,000 Wellens=400,000 Beckford=800,000 Danns=750,000 and that all adds up to 3.5 million
