Most rational people can see that despite the fact we went on a poor run, we've still improved this season - finishing in the playoffs - and that continuity and consistency on and off the pitch is the best way to continue for now. I would be all for getting in a better manager, but I don't think that any of the options on the market now are significantly better to prompt a change in management.

 

As for being bookies favourites to go up, well that means next to nothing and there have been plenty of teams in the Championship with sides as good, if not better, than ours who have struggled as well. Blackburn, Bolton, Wolves, Palace, Brighton... they've all gone on shit runs as well.

The Championship is one of the toughest divisions to get out of (at least if you want to get promoted).

And if the league was so poor, how come it's breaking attendance records for a second-tier division? The Championship has the sixth-highest attendance numbers in Europe.

 

How often do you go to Championship games and how much do you know about football?

The reason we blame Pearson is we don't care about what the 22 teams did, only ours, and he made many many errors that contributed to the poor run.

He is stopping, last season is done and gone, and Pearson has a big enough ego to defend himself.

I can't see it but he might learn from his mistakes and have a successful season next year.

Both those constantly defend him, and think he can do no wrong, and those of us that think he won't come good, need to get over it, the season is done, it's over.

The only thing to do now is to look forward and not back, and lets see how it plays out.

Well Steve Bruce only took over at Hull last summer and was promoted in his first season.

You may well say that Hull were promoted with a squad assembled in the main by  Nigel Pearson, but the difference is Bruce was able to get them promoted, Pearson wasn`t.

Lack of desire? 1-0 down and 2-2 to Forest(a team shot up the table) and cameback to get in the playoffs? on the back of a shocking run of 1 in 14 against Bolton(a team shot up the table) but turn around 1-0 down and 2-2? on an awful run of form going to Brighton(at a time they were bang in form) and play a good footballing team off the park and so nearly knick 3 points?

 

Even mention Watford, where although my opinion we deserved to win, most people seem to think we were poor and Watford battered us, yet we had 1 kick away from Wembley? no desire or passion right? but no quality either, so how did we get within a kick? Did you see Andy Kings last ditch wonder tackle? Did you see Nugents face when he scored?

 

I could go on, but IMO if we really want promotion we'll be there by this time next year if we:

- Stick with Pearson.

- Keep the majority of squad and back him with some money(dont even need much tbh).

Ill be very sure we'll be up around 1st position if we dont lose any key players, add to the squad and keep Pearson.

Then why do you still put up with it after 20 odd years? Nobody's forcing you to watch that "joke" standard.

 

The Championship was never been famous for producing fast-paced, breathtaking and attractive football. Because that doesn't get you anywhere in this division.

It might work for a short while, but after a couple of games, the opposition will have found you out and practically park the bus in order to stop you and to minimize the danger of getting torn apart.

Your just as bad as the Pearson out brigade, what you gonna do if he fails, carry on telling everyone he is still the best think since sliced bread.

If you could be bothered to read it you would see constructive opinions on both sides of the argument, as well as some sillyness.

You and the Pearson in brigade might end up with egg on your face, so till we are promoted save the your wrong crap.

I don't rate his management style, and think he's took us as far as his ability can, but if he has a blinding season and we go up, I won't be hiding anyway, and I think everybody wether we like Pearson as manager or not will just be glad of some success.
