Stadt Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Wales bias aside, Bale is probably the best player in the history of the sport. Bale looks a bit special but not in the football sense
Grandad. Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Special are players who do the special things on a regular basis, they light the game up with things in the majority of games they play, hence why the list is so short and I said maybe you call Zlatan one.
Finnegan Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 On his day, I'd rather watch Zlatan than anyone else in the sport. For the rugby fans on here (looking at you, Haydos) he's like Benji Marshall or Quade Cooper. You know he isn't THE best in the world and he has more average days than the very top players but when he actually does pull off a bit of magic you'll want to watch it on repeat. Forever.
Grandad. Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Surely Suarez is then? Like I said you have to be doing it on a regular basis, for how good Suarez has been this season, this is the first season he has done it, last season he scored a lot but not to this level. IF he does the same again next season then he will go into that category.
AKCJ Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Yeah, completely agree they are world class players but they aren't special footballers, there is a difference. There are 4 maybe 5 special players in world football, Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and maybe Zlatan can fall into that bracket. Note that 4 of the 5 have played under Guardiola.
Dan Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 It's pretty well documented that Zlatan and Guardiola disagreed a lot though.
Grandad. Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Note that 4 of the 5 have played under Guardiola. Well thank you Sherlock Holmes, I will sleep well tonight.
ScouseFox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Robben is one of the best players in the world to watch.
Finnegan Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Robben is one of the best players in the world to watch. Eh. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I find him very boring, you know what's coming a good 60% - 70% of the time. Cut inside, shoot left foot. Cut inside, shoot left foot. I mean it's effective and he's very good at it but he's not exactly unpredictable.

Yeah maybe but he's not exactly the only person in the world that doesn't play tiki taka.
AKCJ Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Well thank you Sherlock Holmes, I will sleep well tonight. Fancy that!? A scouse cvnt.
Stadt Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Lazy bastard players can be great to watch, Berbatov when he's on form is fantastic - entertainment wise.
Grandad. Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Fancy that!? A scouse cvnt. What an embarrassment to your parents you really are. I dread to think what your children will turn out like. Cameron's Britain.. Go back to the England's World Cup Year 2014 thread and try and discuss that shambolic eleven you have selected instead of trying to gob off in this thread with your pointless drivel about Guardiola.
Jimothy Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 **** me! Some people must have real anger issues if that kind of post can come from someone making a factual statement about which manager some players played under!
Grandad. Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 **** me! Some people must have real anger issues if that kind of post can come from someone making a factual statement about which manager some players played under! Well it would be like saying 4 of them 5 have also played under Frank Rijkaard, what is your point? As per his point was absolutely ridiculous and had no relevance to what we were talking about, just another stupid comment from a complete and utter moron trying (badly) to make his other stupid crap look relevant.
Dan Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Robben on his day is amazing but he's horribly predictable. I wouldn't be surprised if he's sold by Guardiola. I thought he'd be straight out when Pep arrived. Always had a bit of an attitude about him and he's not much of a team player either. Robben out, Shaqiri in?

My point was that, going back to the original debate, These players for Bayern aren't special according to you. Well, they now play for the manager that got the best out of the players in your "special" list (Zlatan and obviously Ronaldo aside). Do you stalk my posts or something? I don't think i've ever spoken to you Anyway, grow up mate for **** sake.

Having to refer to me as a "Scouse ****" to begin with and you're telling me to grow up and get a life. Wow. You clearly know nothing, I am still trying to work out what you meant by Guardiola mananging 4 out of 5 of them players, the same as Frank Rijkaard, was it because you tried arguing the toss that people said Guardiola has taken Bayern backwards? And that was your way of suggesting he is a great manager (which nobody has ever doubted). I don't stalk your posts either, they just jump straight out at me because you are pretty daft when it comes to football. Seriously. go back and look at that England starting eleven you suggested for the World Cup.

I said that 4 of the 5 of these so called special players had played under Guardiola because its merely an interesting coincidence and that perhaps he has the ability to mould these brilliant players at Bayern into exceptional ones. Get a ****ing grip.

You're the one arguing with a 'scouse ****' who shouldn't have signed up to this forum..
AKCJ Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Picking from Roy's squad. Hart Johnson Cahill Caulker Baines Milner Gerrard Wilshere Lallana Rooney Sturridge Although for Brazil (assuming fitness) Hart Walker Jagielka Cahill Baines Gerrard Wishere Walcott Rooney Lallana Sturridge This was what I chose, hardly anything crazy is it? (Note the first squad was the 11 i'd have played against Denmark. Jagielka, Walcott and Walker were injured.
