city187 Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 A pointless group who do more bad than good, all about ego. What bad? Would you kill yourself if you was innocent?
RonnieTodger Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Reminds me of that Stinson Hunter documentary on C4 a few months back.
Babylon Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 What bad? I'd like to know how they go about the process of trapping someone. If someone is actively trawling facebook and adding random kids, with one of them ending up as this group then fair enough. If they create provocative pages, seek out people by adding them themselves or they are actively trying to encourage contact in some way then I have a problem with it.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 What bad? Would you kill yourself if you was innocent? Don't think you understand my point. I don't know how I'd react if I was accused of something like that, I probably wouldn't be over the moon.
Buzzell Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 What bad? Would you kill yourself if you was innocent? Could be innocent but could of been getting abuse from all angles and being accused of being a pedo. Shit like that can send you over the edge.
Rincewind Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 As I said in an earlier post it is one of my fears of being accused of something like this. Imagine walking down the street and people shouting paedo or walking in your local and being ignored. At some point it is going to get to your mind. Talking of vigilantes there was a case a few years ago where a ang hounded a bloke the thought a paedo. In truth he was a paedotition. Can't remember what happened but this is what happens when ignorant people take the law into their own hands.

But from what i know this group isn't accusing random people at will or even requesting to be there friends on Facebook. They make the profile and sit back and wait. Abit like the ones on channel 4 documentary last year. Can imagine being accused when innocent could drive people over the edge the same with anything if your innocent but the type of people they are getting would of at least made some sort of contact with somone under 16 by there own will and jesus if u got as far as arranging a meet then u cant have any sympathy whatsoever surly.
1993fox Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Think some people here are agoinzingly close to justifying paedophilia.

DB11 Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 I thought that their methods consisted of creating a fake profile of a female claiming to be old enough, wait until they get contacted and then play along sexually. Once they are involved only then do they say something like "I am 14" or along those lines. Obviously at that point the male should cut off contact, but depends how involved they have become with this person that, for all intents and purposes, has played along and acted like an adult woman. It's not as black and white as having a Facebook profile of a 14 year old girl and a man just messaging them for sex.
DB11 Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 And this is why vigilante groups can go wrong Wigan man arrested over Facebook blackmail attacks http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-32376964
Guest Bilo Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Think some people here are agoinzingly close to justifying paedophilia. Bloody hell, you're daft sometimes.
Kitchandro Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Any information this dubious group obtain should be handed over to the police before any meeting is set up with individuals. If they have enough evidence to entrap the person then that would surely be enough to prompt a police investigation. Why do they feel the need to post videos online? They are not judge, jury and in this case, executioner (by default). What of the wider implications of identifying a suspected peadophile? His family will be targeted in ways the group have no concept of. I don't disagre with the intention of identifying a possible peadophile but to persue it like a witch-hunt is going to far. It's a matter for the police. And don't spout the BS about "if they did their job properly..." From reading the report i t seems it's as much, if not more about the adrenaline rush for the members, in particular the founder, of this group. Totally agree. The fact their actions have led to 12 arrests and no charges suggests they're not really helping investigations. Tipping the police off based on their coversations on the internet is a better way to help surely. EDIT: Didn't realise the thread was 2 years old

Can't remember what happened but this is what happens when ignorant people take the law into their own hands. Was it in Portsmouth a few years back. The local thicko's on an housing estate went on an old school mob rampage with pitchforks and torches hounding out anyone on their estate who they thought was a peado. A peadotrition was targeted, the daft twats were stood outside his practice and thought he was advertising it.
Rincewind Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Yes that was the one. They may not all been that thick but a word in a pub and others will join. @I heard theres a paedo living down the road wanna help sort him out' Then all the regulars shout 'Yeah lets get the gentleman' or words to that effect.
Buce Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 It seems the story to which you are referring is little more than an urban myth, perpetuated by the tabloid press: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4719364.stm Like all myths, there is a grain of truth.
yorkie1999 Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 Surely they're not just accusing people of being peodo's. I thought they were setting traps for peodo's to fall into by turning up for meetings in public places.
ADK Posted 20 April 2015 Posted 20 April 2015 It all depends how they are doing it. I don't think I like the idea of a 19 year old being beaten up by a gang of people in their mid 20's who have tricked him into thinking he is meeting a 14 year old girl. Considering he wasn't talking to an actual 14 year old but people posing as one.

I can remember the BBC news reporters interviewing a women pushing a kid in a pram round with the mob, she said that the people they were targeting were known pedophiles in the area, when the reporter pressed her further on how they knew, she said something along the lines of 'well rumours and stuff.'
