I'm sort of organising a limited sort of stag do. I'm not sure how I ended up doing this. A few bottles of nice wine were consumed, the port was out the following morning so I'm guessing I got stuck in to that - and I'd evidently thrown some ideas in to the ring a little too enthusiastically and ended up holding the baton as it were.

This is a long shot but, does anyone have any experience of the following which I have no idea about but confidently recommended:

- gentleman's evening tea - from what I understand manly foods, probably like sandwiches with only meat in (sorry Oz Fox or whatever your name is), pork pies, chunky bread, chunky relishes - that sort of stuff, single malt whiskies and cigars. I suggested this as its right up my mate's street - I'm sure I've heard about them but has anyone been to them? Are they essentially a bit crap?

- Gin distillery tour/tasting - I've had sipsmiths recommended and its a fine drop. The place looks suitably quirky and interesting and again, my mate would absolutely love it. So the place is situated at -

I know little of London. Is this in the arse end of nowhere? Is there somewhere better?

- Clubs in London - will I need to book/fore-warn? Is it possible to get an entire stag group (we're mainly dicks) in to a club in London? Where should we go? We will essentially all be quite drunk but just up for a dance and more booze etc. Am I better to take everyone over to Soho and just repeatedly try our luck? Or is that about the worst thing I could do? I've ended up in cocktail places over that way and done all my cash in an hour before now.

- Staying in London - can this be done on a budget? We won't be fussy, but I don't really like hostels... any advice here?

I really don't want to make the common London mistakes so I need educating.

Oi Oi.

I've heard about the gentlemen's tea but never done it,

As regard to staying in London on a budget have a butchers at an apartment as opposed to a hotel. You may get one for a few hundred quid for the night and split between a load of you is dirt cheap.

I'm not in to my clubs but I can do you an itinerary of superb boozers. The one club I have been a few times is Borderline near Charing Cross, indie club so good music and they let me in after i'd chundered in the queue so it's that sort of gaff.

Mate - I knew you'd be the one on this.

You did a post about boozers earlier on - well a few weeks ago.

Forget the club idea, but if we did a series of boozers, without travelling around too much, that should be workable right?

My lot never end up in a club anyway. We're a nightmare.

Could you do an itinerary of top boozers within a small or easily travellable distance? Spot on. I'll pop you the details - special guest.

Might see if I can get Iwan Roberts there.

I thought you were supposed to be struggling to put food on the table for your family due to having to keep all the scroungers and layabouts in luxury ?

I ended up in a club downstairs under a chippy once hamersmith way I think. Popped in for a quick bite and ended up dancing with a lovely bra less girl called Maria from Madrid.

Correct.

Shall I tell my friend to cancel his wedding?

Life goes on my friend. I do not wallow.

The cream always rises. Remember that.

Not a problem mate!

Soho has about 100 pubs within the radius of about 2 miles and you can't go wrong there really. There's some decent Sam Smith pubs there that knock out ale for under £3 a pint.

However Soho is often absolutely rammed and it depends if you can put up with that.

A damn good alternative is the boozers around Borough market. There's a lot in close vacinity to one another, likewise Angel.

Are you on an all dayer or starting early evening?

I suppose if it's a case of putting food on the table or going on your mates stag night , it's a simple choice really .

I will always put food on the table, please don't worry about that - spend your worry on the poor, downtrodden workshy who are now being forced to actually attend the job centre for their money, which in some cases (total benefits + amount saved by not paying CT etc) is more than my income.

Some may want your pity. I do not.

Back to the main thrust of the thread - and it shan't be derailed - another option emerges which is Plymouth, mainly as both my mate and I are gin fans and fancy doing some sort of decent tour/tasting etc.

I think I prefer London - but it may get a bit dear.

Reckon we might head up on a Saturday, early doors and back on the Sunday. Leo Sayer on the Saturday.

Haha Swignopoly is always a good crack, drink round the monopoly board. We took it a step further though and played Monopoly in every pub with various drinking challenges depending on what you landed on. It was an absolute bloodbath.

Me and my lot are no longer super high energy funsters. I could see us getting as far as maybe the end of the light blues. God knows what/where pentonville road is and even if that is light blue?

Is there any topic that foxestalk isn't capable of turning into an argument about hand outs?

Gin - mothers ruin - the downtrodden masses - Rincy will be here in a minute.

ON topic if you are really into your Gin you can make your own on one of these tours.  I forget where.

Good God man. I've done the Monopoly bar crawl and that was still tight! How did you get Monopoly in every pub??

Anyway, if you are interest in doing that Woolers then here is a good route. From memory you have to be quite militant if you want to get it all in. I also did a Sam Smith's bar crawl. There's something like 26 of them in zone 1. It's a cheaper one as well!

The gin tasting place you mentioned is down Shepherd's Bush/Hammersmith way so you'll have to move on if you want to pub.
