MooseBreath Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Yes I know this comes up all the time, which tells its own story imo, but whatever, can someone explain precisely on what basis my thread about the article on the BBC about the japanese people got deleted? I have read the forum rules thoroughly and that thread contained not the merest suggestion of a rule being broken. So please moderator can you cone forward and explain what was wrong, just so that I and others can refrain from wasting our time trying to start interesting conversations only to have you come in and delete threads for no apparent reason. Thanks in advance Yours in my most sincerest form, Moosebreath
Finnegan Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 I'm surprised you're not glad it was deleted, given you were making a complete tit of yourself.
Mark_w Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 "The FoxesTalk team reserves the right to edit, delete, move or close any thread, avatar or signature for any valid reason." Is 'it was pointless and stupid' a valid reason?
MooseBreath Posted 24 October 2013 Author Posted 24 October 2013 I'm surprised you're not glad it was deleted, given you were making a complete tit of yourself. How is a link to an article on the BBC making a tit of myself? Thought the strange world of Japanese sexuality was an interesting thing to discuss. Obviously the BBC agrees, hence the article, but on here it's unacceptable? I don't get it.

Calling it 'the acceptable face of paedophilia', when it was nothing of the kind might have something to do with it.

Thought the strange world of Japanese sexuality was an interesting thing to discuss. Obviously the BBC agrees, hence the article, but on here it's unacceptable? I don't get it. It is an interesting topic for debate but you had no interest in a debate. You just wanted to go "LOOK EVERYONE, JAPAN IS MAKING PEDOPHILIA COOL!" knowing full well that's not what the article said in an attempt to provoke reactions off people. It was just lazy trolling that made you look faintly xenophobic. I wouldn't have deleted it personally but it's obvious why a mod may have done and acting all indignant for attention (because you know it's a popular topic lately) just makes you look even more desperate. But then I'm responding so what do I know!
Strokes Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Calling it 'the acceptable face of paedophilia', when it was nothing of the kind might have something to do with it.It has a 38 year old bloke dating a fictional 15 year old, it was hardly an outrageous comment. The whole thing is pretty creepy at best.

But then I'm responding so what do I know! You're taking it more personally than you should because you know I know you're into Japanese culture and you suspect I might have been trying to get a rise out of you or something. I wasn't. Japanese men are favouring 'relationships' with childlike virtual characters over real women. Come on, even you can admit that it's totally fvcking weird.
Harry - LCFC Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 You did try and paint the picture of paedophilia being accepted in Japan when that clearly isn't the case. You started it to fuel your agenda against the left which does get rather frustrating to have to put up with. Having said that I wouldn't have deleted the thread personally.
Mark_w Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 It has a 38 year old bloke dating a fictional 15 year old, it was hardly an outrageous comment. The whole thing is pretty creepy at best. Did the article say that the bloke was dating a fictional 15 year old? I don't think so. And isn't the age of consent in Japan lower than 15 anyway? (Genuinely don't know)
Zingari Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 I'm surprised you're not glad it was deleted, given you were making a complete tit of yourself. Aren't we even allowed to make tits of ourselves anymore?
Finnegan Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 It has a 38 year old bloke dating a fictional 15 year old, it was hardly an outrageous comment. The whole thing is pretty creepy at best. The only difference between Japanese culture and ours when it comes to socially awkward, sexually deprived oddballs is we have a billion dollar porn industry dressing up increasingly young-looking teenagers to look like school girls and - in typical Japanese style - they've turned it im to a cartoon computer game instead. Seriously, is sitting at home wanking off to "barely legal teens" in pink cotton pants with braces on and pigtails that much weirder?
purpleronnie Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Aren't we even allowed to make tits of ourselves anymore? Yes but too many people milk it.

You make it sound like otaku culture is socially acceptable, it isn't. Being otaku is the Asian equivalent of the weed, seedy geeks over here that are mocked, avoided and never get laid. I'm not taking it "personally" in the slightest, you obviously WERE fishing for a reaction and most likely from me. But I'm quite happy and amused watching you hang yourself. Desperately trying to backpedal and pretend you were being more reasonable than that because you've not quite got the wave of support you were hoping for.

Zingari Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Yes but too many people milk it. we're turning into a fascist lactatorship
davieG Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Aren't we even allowed to make tits of ourselves anymore? You have to be more subtle though and dress it up as keeping abreast with the times.
MooseBreath Posted 24 October 2013 Author Posted 24 October 2013 You started it to fuel your agenda against the left which does get rather frustrating to have to put up with. What? The only way you could read anything political into that is if you think lefties might be inclined to go in for that kind of perversion. I certainly didn't intend to suggest anything of the sort, but it's interesting that you made the connection

No its not much stranger, and clearly the culture is very different. I still don't see how he is making a for out of himself though.
MooseBreath Posted 24 October 2013 Author Posted 24 October 2013 You make it sound like otaku culture is socially acceptable, it isn't. Being otaku is the Asian equivalent of the weed, seedy geeks over here that are mocked, avoided and never get laid. That's the kind of contribution I expected. So we could have started from something that looks weird and maybe by the end of the thread we might have learned something and all be that little bit wiser and more knowledgeable. But no. We're not allowed to do that.
Zingari Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 You have to be more subtle though and dress it up as keeping abreast with the times. It's just another storm in a D cup. Moosey may have his knockers , but it wasn't a boob to post the article
leicsmac Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 We do have a pretty messed up country in terms of sexual repression. It's the whole Puritan "no sex please, we're British" thing. As for the article itself - similar repression, acting itself out in a different (and pretty odd) way. Finn has a point with his comparison. The age of consent in Japan is 13, apparently.
Harry - LCFC Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 What? The only way you could read anything political into that is if you think lefties might be inclined to go in for that kind of perversion. I certainly didn't intend to suggest anything of the sort, but it's interesting that you made the connection You've spoken a number of times about your dislike of 'Muslim paedo gangs' and furthermore how you detest 'the left's willingness to allow such things to go unnoticed.' Personally I don't associate lefties with the toleration of paedophilia but you've made it abundantly clear that you do.

So we could have started from something that looks weird and maybe by the end of the thread we might have learned something and all be that little bit wiser and more knowledgeable. But no. We're not allowed to do that. Well like I said, I wouldn't have deleted the thread personally but you could argue the mod did the right thing given you've been far more reasonable in this thread than you were in the last.

Wanking off to cartoon characters is weirder than anything I've come across in porn. I'm glad it's not socially acceptable over there, anyone over 30 who has a cartoon character as his 15 year old girlfriend does need sectioning though.
