Rincewind Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 This is Britain in 2013. How can anyone say this is OK to be ignored and not feel that it is wrong that it happens? http://downnotoutleicester.wordpress.com/
Mark_w Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I agree, that logo is such an eyesore. It's disgraceful.
rico Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 sleep on the street next year and you could be deported
Rincewind Posted 29 November 2013 Author Posted 29 November 2013 Well;; not many people know this but people who sleep rough in the posher areas are being moved to poorer areas. The authorities do not want to upset the residents and want to give a good impression about their homeless figures.
Guest MattP Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I can't carry a box - by A.R. Iston His warning not heeded, JSA not exceeded, A resettlement needed, He drunkenly pleaded, My house it was sold, By Gordon with gold, This doorway is cold, And I'm getting old, The winter is here, The Tories can't hear A word in you ear, Please give me a beer, Just sign this form, It's actually the norm, You'll have your own dorm, Your life will transform, But then I can't beg, You not seen my bad leg, If you don't want me dead I'll need more than a bed, Now this is a farce, Get up off your arse, We're taxing those now, Whose houses are sparse, No thanks I'll just stay, Go laud my display, I'll pick up a stray, I've heard that can pay, Time for you to go, Get on that soapbox and crow, Another tale of woe, For the fans of DNO.

How would they even stop them going back?
MooseBreath Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Just goes to show you can never please some people. They moan about being homeless and then when you give them a free house they moan that they don't know how to cook or use the washing machine. Then they have the cheek to suggest that their desire for a personal maid is more important than carrying out maintenance on essential infrastructure which is needed to keep productive members of society moving. Bit of a piss take really.
The People's Hero Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 When it comes to fonts, clearly more is more.
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Tbf he does have learning difficulties, if his disability is so severe that it makes him unable to do everyday tasks then I think it's rather unfair to take such a dismissive attitude towards him.

Did a superb job of articulating his woes and allocating blame for someone who apparently can't read or who doesn't know how to buy anything other than biscuits from a shop though, didn't he? In any case my issue is not with the interviewee but rather with the aim of the report itself, which is obviously nothing more than another "we deserve more of other people's hard earned money" type of rant.

Right ok, didn't realise you were criticising the author at first, thought it was the other way round. Don't know how you can solve this really. If people suffer from these problems then it's very difficult to help them, don't see how putting them in individual houses away from other people helps either.
Rincewind Posted 29 November 2013 Author Posted 29 November 2013 Moosebreath I admire your compassion for your fellow human being. They were not asking for more money just better services and support instead of money that is available being wasted on digging holes filling them in then digging more holes. I would rather taxpayers money be spent on something that helps the common man instead of being wasted.
Guest MattP Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Moosebreath I am envious of the fact you have worked hard for what you have. Right ok, didn't realise you were criticising the author at first, thought it was the other way round. Don't know how you can solve this really. If people suffer from these problems then it's very difficult to help them, don't see how putting them in individual houses away from other people helps either. Keep spending public money like they do and you won't be able to even afford an individual house let alone a carer in twenty years for those who genuinely need help. Look at the mess in Greece thanks to those wretched corrupt cnuts in Brussels who have now have a system where people are injecting themselves with HIV as its the only way they can get a benefit amount capable of living on.

I'm not sure Ken has learning difficulties in all fairness.
Guest MattP Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I'm not sure Ken has learning difficulties in all fairness. Every post you make is making me chuckle at the minute

"Digging holes filling them in then digging more holes" - certainly sounds like you know what you're talking about. You should write to the highways agency, the utilities and communications companies and tell them their blokes are just digging holes for no good reason. They'll surely take notice if you've got the weight of the mighty DNO and its cutting edge infrastructure analysis behind you.Asking for money, asking for more services. What's the difference? If anything asking for services is even worse because not only do you expect other people to pay for it, you expect other people to actually provide it too.
Rincewind Posted 29 November 2013 Author Posted 29 November 2013 I'm not sure Ken has learning difficulties in all fairness. I hope not. But being involved with DNO has helped my confidence so I like and appreciate my abilities that I do have.
Nick Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I hope not. But being involved with DNO has helped my confidence so I like and appreciate my abilities that I do have. Good for you mate. Helping people less well off than yourself can be satisfying as well as frustrating - the issue will always be present but granting even a few individuals on the way some life opportunities to improve their situation is an admirable pastime. Fair play to you.
Guest MattP Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Slightly off topic but I don't think I can think of a more apt man to lead the this countries socialists. Just look at him. He's got them eating out of his palm.

Fair play to you. I don't think anyone here would disagree with that. The criticism of some points made by the poster in question and of some articles published by DNO are fairly well documented and have not been addressed. Charity and looking out for others is highly commendable and should be applauded. Fair play to you Ken.
MooseBreath Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Look at those child bearing hips. He looks quite the athlete.
