Mark_w Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 How is that happening? Muslims are the Worlds filth. Why don't all members of that faith FCUK OFF ? the filth that follow the Muslim faith are worthless It's vile and it certainly is inciting religious hatred.
Guest shearfox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 They are out of order, there is one thing having an opinion on a religion and another completely abusing people within a religion... those comments are an absolute disgrace and should be removed...
hackneyfox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 One or two people's opinions shouted very loudly. As someone posted earlier you'll hear exactly the same in many pubs and clubs up and down the country. If you dislike it so much stop moaning about it on here where it'll make no difference and try discussing it on BR if it offends you so much. Jobsworth fox is generally trolling and replies CHOMP to anyone who disagrees, most of us ignore him.
Mark_w Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 One or two people's opinions shouted very loudly. I'm not saying shut down Bentleys Roof (even though I disagree with 95% of what's posted on there), but those intolerant posts should be deleted and the people who posted them banned. And according to you similar abuse has been leveled at most religions, same applies to those posts and posters. Same applies on here although in my experience few share such extreme views on Foxes Talk.
Webbo Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 On the odd occasion when I've read things on Bentleys, always because someone has posted a link on here, I've found it to be about a dozen old men looking down their noses at other fans. I've no interest in the place or what's posted on it. I do find it more offensive though that there are people who want to get the police involved because somebody else has an unfashionable view.

Nothing is ever removed on BR. I don't like any religion and in the main I dislike people who blindly follow the doctrines of any religion. I'd happily ban every religious extremist from this country whatever their racial background. Of course I'm sure not everyone is like that on Bentleys roof but I just feel it should be moderated better and certain people banned for such comments. It only attracts people like that because they know they can post such disgrace and get a reaction.

Guest shearfox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 People don't look down their noses at others on here? Bummers and haters etc Yep, people looking down at others happens on all forums
Webbo Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 People don't look down their noses at others on here? Bummers and haters etc :xmasohmy: You said it was a good post a minute ago. Actually I have no interest in that kind of post on here either. I can't stand fan snobbery.
Harry - LCFC Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Even if they did have the right to say as much stupid, vile, shit as they want (and they don't), free speech is no justification for idiocy and discrimination. We've all got the right to say that they're ****ing morons. Exactly this. I get so frustrated when people cry 'free speech' when I state that I disapprove a certain view. At what point am I infringing upon a person's right to speak? I make no attempt whatsoever to try to prevent them from voicing their opinion, only asserting my own view of it as part of the discussion. Every time someone tells me I'm damaging freedom of speech I just laugh at them. They're totally incorrect.
Soup Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Surely they're inciting religious hatred? Which is illegal as far as I'm aware.I hate beetroot.Am I ok to say that.
bovril Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 I doubt you'd hear such stuff in pubs up and down the country. The internet was made for the spleen-venters amongst us, you just have to read the comments section of an online newspaper.

It only attracts people like that because they know they can post such disgrace and get a reaction. BR has never pulled a post or banned anyone, if it gets too outrageous FOL would and they clearly don't believe the law is being broken. Really not sure why people who don't even go on the board are offended by threads they never read. I hate racism in ever form and have argued the toss with many posters over the years, after a while you realise you will never change some people's opinions.

Why should that stop anyone saying that they should?

The OP said the police should get involved which in my opinion is a little OTT.
AoWW Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Er, perhaps I'm being dumb and missing the point, but if you don't like what's said on Bentley's Roof, or how their site is or isn't moderated, perhaps you'd be better off mentioning it on there, not here.

All that is required for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing?

MooseBreath Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Surely they're inciting religious hatred? Which is illegal as far as I'm aware. There's no 'inciting' going on there though, it is just one bloke giving his opinion. I believe the behavior also has to be "threatening" for it to be illegal under that act, and the poster makes no threats. So I'd suggest it falls someway short of being illegal.
Webbo Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 All that is required for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing? Does intolerance of differing opinions count as evil?
Soup Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 All that is required for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing? I'm a good person, what should I do.

Surely saying they're 'the world's filth' is encouraging the hatred of Muslims? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-15333744 What's the difference really?
Bettsj2 Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Bentley's Roof is the biggest pile of wank on the internet. As a result, the most idiotic of fans go on there and post comment on subjects they know nothing about. They aren't worth anyones time so please, dont waste yours.

Every time someone tells me I'm damaging freedom of speech I just laugh at them. They're totally incorrect. Well I mentioned free speech so I guess this is aimed at me. I'm not saying people shouldn't be allowed to criticise the views of others (quite the opposite infact), you can criticise the bloke on BR til kingdom come as far as I'm concerned, I am objecting to the idea that he shouldn't be allowed to voice his opinion. Because just as you should always be allowed to criticise others, so too should he. Whether he is right or wrong doesn't matter. What's important here is restricting the application of censorship, in order to protect free speech. You can't go around censoring people just because you don't agree with what they're saying. This isn't North Korea.
