Deucalion Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Drove out to a dark hill near Kinver and stood around with my camera for around 40 minutes. Nowt !! But, I went out in the garden with my dogs at around 11:30 and occasionally I thought I saw brief green wisps, like smoke. The thing is, it's always light in my garden and I was never looking directly at them, so I cannot say for certain it was the Northern Lights. It might've been my eyes playing tricks on me. Whatever, it was a lovely clear night to stare at the stars !!

I have seen the Northern Lights over Scapa Flow but the last few times I have been out on Aurora alert there has been nothing, I then go home to bed and see everyone else photos of the lights that came out just after I had left!.
