deanolegend1989 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I loved way=tching him play but it always seemed as if there was an accident waiting. Of course he now gets unfair stick, he's left which means he was shite, you should know how it works on here. No its not because hes left. I thought it at the time and was delighted he left. He isnt a patch on Moore he was a slow lumbering donkey and couldnt read the game what so ever. Its a crap argument singling out individual games because every player, crap, average, below-average, good, great whatever, will always have stormers here and there..the best players are the most consistent ones. Whilst I agree maybe Fernandes could of been better, Bamba is the 1 im sure of..I saw him alot of times and he wernt good enough for us.
Dan Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Says it all really. One side put together by Pearson (after some spending, but largely made whilst clearing up a lot of the previous mess) would quite comfortably thump a side made up of different seasons' worth of players (that was 'built' during our reckless spending era). Mills, Schmeichel, Konchesky and Danns would've never played with Naughton & Yakubu. Here's one - Sven's 10/11 vs Sven's 11/12. Who'd win? I reckon 10/11 and that's what pisses me off the most about him.
Bryn Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I can't see past the team we put out against Derby, much as Naughton and Yakubu did good things for us. Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Knockaert Drinkwater James Dyer Vardy Nugent
Dan Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Leave it out. All three are/were established internationals. Bamba was an animal in this league, i particularly remember him keeping Ronaldo quiet in the RM friendly. Established internationals is now seen as a bigger asset to us than how they actually perform? I think that's Sven's reign to a tee.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 GK - Schmeichel RB - Naughton CB - Morgan CB - C Davies LB - Konchesky RM - Knockaert CM - Drinkwater CM - M Davies LM - Dyer CF - Yakubu CF - Nugent Subs: Weale, Bamba, De Laet, King, Spearing, Marshall, Vardy That 18 would win this league.
Dickov22 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 The Sven side has absolutely ZERO width which is our key strength this season. Yakubu was pretty lazy- wouldn't fit into our style of play. Bamba was a total liability- I'd much rather have Morgan. Did love Naughton, but I'm not sure I'd have him ahead of De Laet. Pearson's team would hammer that team

How that team finished fifth and Sven never reached the top six is beyond me with the resources he had.

Our first reign under Pearson was a huge breath of fresh air to be fair and it looks like his second is finally turning into one too.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 By the looks of the team above we are including players from Pearson's first reign..i.e. Mark Davies, so if that is the case, instead of Weale as sub keeper, I may opt for David Stockdale, I may go for Tunchev instead of Bamba.
