What are the major differences? I think Svens midfield would pass circles around James and Drinkwater. Yakubu would probably have run Moore in particular all over the place. 2-1 to Leicester IMO
conLAD logan Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 you lost me when you said "I think Svens midfield would pass circles around James and Drinkwater".

NewquayFox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Put some money on that scoreline, you can't lose.....
Vardinhio Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I assume you're joking re the pass rings around. The only player I'd have in that team is Yakubu over Nugent at the moment.
elangLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Can't look past Pearson's for this one, lack of wide men in Sven's to stop Lloyd and Knocky early as well as better togetherness and tactics. Feel the front two are more clinical and the back four more solid. Perhaps outnumbered in Central mid but James and Drinky's break up play is outstanding. 3-1 Pearson
Mark_w Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The only player I'd have in that team is Yakubu over Nugent at the moment. Kyle Naughton surely?
conLAD logan Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 thinking about it vardy and yakubu would have been one hell of a partnership, although i'm pretty happy with nugent atm
EnglishOxide Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 Are you pissed? Svens team tended to dominate posession.
Brainy Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Say what you want about Sven but thats still a very good side
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Naughton and possibly Kingy the goalscorer from Sven's team. Thought Konchesky was better in the 11/12 season than he is now too.
bovril Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 You could put exactly the same two teams out and the one managed by Pearson would win.
leicesterisme Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I don't think Yakubu has ever run anybody 'all over the place'
Corky Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Svens team tended to dominate posession. Until Danns got the ball.
Jobyfox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 You're cheating a little bit. If I'm not mistaken then Naughton wasn't here at the same time as Konch and Yakubu wasn't with us at the same time as Beckford. So it's the best of Sven vs the current NP team. Having said that I still feel that there is no weak link in the NP team whereas Mills, Abe, Danns and Beckford were all distinctly average for us. Not to mention the completely different team ethic in the NP side. This leaves me to believe that NP's team would win 6 or 7 times out of ten with maybe a couple of draws thrown in after that!
little Brian Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Svens team was that great they never won two games together ........
little Brian Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Svens team tended to dominate posession. utter crap
The Blur Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 ----------------Kasper------------- Naughton----Mills-----Bamba----Konchesky -----------------Abe------------------ ----------Danns-------Wellens---------- ----------------King------------------- ---------Yakubu--------Beckford--------- vs ------------------Kasper--------------- De Laet-----Morgan-----Moore-----Konchesky Knocky-----James-----Drinkwater----Dyer--- ------------Vardy-----Nugent------------- How would it pan out? Mark_w Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 If I was creating a Sven-Pearson hybrid from the players who played under either manager it'd look something like this. Kasper Naughton Vitor Morgan Konchesky Knockaert Drinkwater James Dyer Vardy Yakubu Weale, Moore, De Laet, Abe, King, Marshall, Nugent
Naylor118 Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The best player in Sven's era was Gelson Fernandes. Yet he's not even mentioned?!
The Horse's Mouth Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The best player in Sven's era was Gelson Fernandes. Yet he's not even mentioned?! No he wasn't.
Mark_w Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The best player in Sven's era was Gelson Fernandes. Yet he's not even mentioned?! He wasn't even close to being the best player in Sven's era.
Kitchandro Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Kyle Naughton surely? Yep, he'd be the only one. Wouldn't have the lazy bastard Yakubu ahead of Nugent. As if he'd be able to form a partnership like Vardy and Nuge have. He'd just decide he wasn't interested half the time. Nugent hasn't been as energetic as he used to be but Yak, christ. I can't understand why, when people are seeing evidence of how important hard work is, they'd call for Yakubu.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Naughton was easily the best player of the Sven era, I have no clue how anybody could suggest otherwise.
