Manwell Pablo Posted 3 February 2014 Posted 3 February 2014 Saturday was a decent watch! Doubt I'll go out of my way to watch anymore now though the Welsh will hammer us at home n that will be that!
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Saturday was a decent watch! Doubt I'll go out of my way to watch anymore now though the Welsh will hammer us at home n that will be that! We will improve, we're always shit against Italy and always turn it on for England. If you don't improve we'll win comfortably, imo. Have to wait and see what you do to Scotland.

FoxyPV Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Ireland played some lovely stuff but unless their intesnity is 100% then there is always a feeling of something going awry. Good win against a good Scotland side. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed as we beat the Welsh last year then descended into nothingness. BOD passing was a bit rare on Sunday.

So basically if city were an international rugby team. Anyway, where's FIF bemoaning that best fly-half ever Toby Flood isn't in the england squad? Or has he not actually noticed yet
Sparky Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 Can't see there being more than 3 points in the Ireland vs Wales game. Gonna be fine margins in Dublin.

Can't see you being much wrong there mate, really. 3 - 5 points I reckon. Hopefully it'll be a good game, I'm giving my ST away for the Watford game so I can watch it "live." I hope I'll be rewarded with a win! I don't see the sense of Scotland dropping their captain / one of their better players, though. Massive gamble for them, they'll be hoping Johnson knows what he's doing. You seen this, pal? Could be massive for your 2015 bid, I'm often dubious about these league cross overs but I think he'd be ****ing massive in Union. Really, really rate the guy. Your very own SBW (almost.)
Super_horns Posted 6 February 2014 Posted 6 February 2014 I cannot see Scotland being as poor as they were against Ireland but England still should be confident enough to win? Ireland Wales should be a cracker.

Don't really know much about him mate, try to avoid league !! In all fairness anything that may make us stronger has to be positive !
Chilwell_Fox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Cant wait for tomorrow, will watch Ireland v Wales whilst I listen to the Watford game. Its going to be awesome, Ireland and Wales hate each other. Going to need a fair few of theese to wash down as well....
Finnegan Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 We never used to hate each other, it's a bit of a new phenomenon. We used to sing each others songs in the pub and support each other as almost a second team against the English! It was all very cosy. Then Gats showed up and started stirring the pot. A few contentious decisions, some very close games, Mike Phillips, the fact we stuffed them in the WC, Don O'Cal, the Lions drama and all that other shit have just raised tensions. I agree with Gatland on one point, though. The BOD stuff is lazy journalism. BOD is a professional, he'll have been disappointed at the time but Gatland was vindicated, he gave BOD a lions tour win to retire on and all is good in the world. Both teams will be well motivated without that shit.
Chilwell_Fox Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I think Gatland was perfectly justified in drpping BOD. Don't get me wrong, I love BOD, he is a living legend. But he is fast approaching the end of his career. Gatland is just a rugby version of Mourinho, BOD was his Juan Mata. Im hoping for a Wales win tomorrow, hopeflly the Welsh will be able to unleash their three quarter line on the Irish.
Finnegan Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 I disagree with the Mata / Mourinho analogy. Gats plays mind games but I don't think it's to raise his own profile, it's to get in people's heads, motivate his players, get to refs and officials and try to fluster the opposition. He doesn't always get it right but when he does it's far more Ferguson than Jose, to me. There's an agenda of winning, not ego. I don't think BOD was comparable to Mata, either. Mata was and is one of the best players in the league, comfortably better than an -at the time- misfiring Willian and probably a better talent than Oscar. Nobody could explain why he'd been dropped and Chelsea weren't playing very well. By contrast, BOD is past his best and had a couple of below par games on tour. He was dropped for a young, in-form centre partnership who had just won their second consecutive 6N (Ireland narrowly avoided the spoon), who knew each other, worked well together and who vindicated their managers selection with a strong win. Complete non issue.
Nalis Posted 7 February 2014 Posted 7 February 2014 Gotta love the 6 Nations weekends! The Irish/Welsh rivalry is healthy for the 6 Nations as opposed to everyone just hating England. I even find myself wanting to beat Wales more than England! Admittedly, I look at what Wales have achieved with envy. To only win 1 Grand Slam and reached a WC QF with the so called generation over the past 10 years is a bit pathetic when you compare it to Wales' achievements over the same period. As much as I'd love a win, I think Wales will win by 4.
tartanowl Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Disappointing forwards performance against Ireland cost us big time last weekend. We need a result today against England or Italy will be the only game we can/will win. Massive game for us I'm perhaps premature writing us off against the French/Welsh but they will be much tougher games. A win is imperative today.

I can't see you winning in Cardiff unless we lose to Ireland and England and have all but given up. If we need to beat you at home to win either the Championship and Tripple Crown or - even better - a Grand Slam then you may as well not bother coming. By the way, Mark, that isn't "Welsh arrogance" - Scotland are just THAT shit.
tartanowl Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I'm happy for us to be underestimated and nobody expects anything of us which suits us fine. We were the 2nd highest points scorers and finished 3rd last year and whilst we rode our luck a wee bit we are definitely not shit. The French will win it this year, you will be 2nd.
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 THANK you Joe Shmidt! Finally. Asked about all the so called spice and tension between Wales and Ireland "[no] actually I think most of these guys are pretty good friends." Haha. And Mike Phillips on the rivalry "well that's just you guys' [the press] job."
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Comfortably the most inept 80 minute performance I've seen in the Gatland era. ****ing useless from Wales. Ireland hugely professional, done the basics well but haven't needed to get up the gears at all. Sexton motm easily. I can't understand the loyalty to Priestland. I'm a Scarlets fan and I like him but he's easily the weak link in that backs division.
Nalis Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 ****ing yes. Stable performance, we didn't really need to get out 3rd gear as Wales didn't turn up and won't be happy with that. Sexton and O'Mahoney immense. Also a bonus to see that **** Phillips lose it at the end...
