jimmer Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26136538Nice grounded player, been impressed with him this year. Nice bit of insight to his Manu days tooKeep it up Matty
My Nads Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Drinky and James are the engine of our team. Can't praise them enough. Not flashy, but they are both great players for us and they don't have many off days. They have both scored a fantastic goal each recently as well. Id like to see more long shots from them.
RizLCFC Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Good interview, seems like it's not the full thing which is a shame, always enjoy listening to Matty, speaks well.
dimmerchant Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Enjoyable watch - slightly more interesting responses than your usual 'we're doing well/I hope it continues/team effort/long way to go/togetherness/lads' cliched responses. Always wonder how media duties are sorted out between the squad. Some players seem much happier (James, Nugent etc.) than others, who seem to quite obviously dislike it (Dyer, Drinky etc.). Wonder if there's any incentive to speak to the press? Fairly sure Pearson spoke in the lounge the other night as a result of Drinky 'feeling ill'. I love Drinky and think he's a class act, but he's never really shown much appreciation etc. to the fans (ears to our fans comes to mind) has he? Don't really blame him considering he was scapegoated for a while, but would love to know his thoughts on the Leicester faithful.

Probably wouldn't think twice about jumping ship.
CosbehFox Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 I said a week back or so, James is the best person within the squad. All the club staff speak highly of his personality and he's very down to earth. Drinkwater and Schmeichel are the opposite I've heard.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Anyone remember Drinky's interview after Peterborough away last year?

All the club staff speak highly of his personality and he's very down to earth. Drinkwater and Schmeichel are the opposite I've heard. Especially Schemichel. People don't or won't believe it but it's true.
Babylon Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Bloody Pearson not being able to handle shit awkward players characters.

Could imagine Konchesky and Nugent being very popular. On the video, is the interviewer talking into a glass?

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 As long as a player gives 100%, I don't think it matters what they are like. I have to say that even if we gain promotion, Kasper will move on. No reason, just a gut feeling.
PerfumePonce Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 Who are the other good people in the squad? Could imagine Konchesky and Nugent being very popular. On the video, is the interviewer talking into a glass? I remember reading somewhere that Gally was very popular amongst the players.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 February 2014 Posted 13 February 2014 Thanks for that Jimmer. That interview alone has restored my faith in *some* players, showing that not all of them only care about themselves and their wage packet. What a decent bloke Matty is. Some thoroughly interesting insight into life at Manchester United as well. I especially liked the bit about going in on your own to speak to Fergie and the bit about Pearson having such high standards.
jimmer Posted 13 February 2014 Author Posted 13 February 2014 No probs I thought exactly the same and felt it deserved an airing here. Good to hear the harmony within the squad is good too, both in and outside the club....can only be healthy.

Nugent is happy to chat too anyone, Kingy is a nice guy (bit of a mummies boy - very close to his family) and Gally was very liked by staff at the club.
