Ken, I asked you some serious questions and I'm looking forward to my answers :)

Odds on what you will actually get.

7/4 - a link to something that doesnt work

4/6 - a retort that relates to another thread

8/11 - a picture of something relating to bankers or a tory mp

Evens - all of the above

What will you give me for an out-of-tune spoken word track that's ripe for remix?

No offers, that's a dead cert when he's been on the sauce all day.

Just waiting for the title of the next one. I'm going for "Boris Floods" or a Valentine special "White Dee and me, let it be"

Kenny, you mention that someone "has to be from Leicester". The section of the pdf that relates to that statement is just a few short paragraphs and can be found on pages 11 and 12. I'd suggest you give it a quick read, it will only take a minute. Of particular interest to you will be the bit where it says any homeless person will be deemed eligible regardless of whether or not they're from Leicester.

I'll stop posting if it helps.

Don't do that but give it a rest mate. This is painful.

For me to consider this issue, I am expected to read a 48 page document and I have no idea why. From what I've read, you don't understand it either.

I assume I'm not alone and now you're get umpty because no one is taking you seriously. You aren't giving us much of a chance are you?

Don't do that, Ken. You're a valued contributor.

Smudge's post is fair comment, though. We can all improve the way we post in various ways. My posts are often too long and boring. Some people use incomprehensible grammar or get needlessly aggressive. You get on your hobby horse a bit too much and sometimes post links without briefly explaining what they're about (the mistypes are just funny - we all do that sometimes and it's right that pisstaking should ensue). We all have our faults....

Keep at it, though. You're right to keep raising homelessness and poverty as issues...just maybe not quite so often and a little more accessibly? Hope to hear from you soon, though!  :)

Agree wholeheartedly.

Ken, I think on the whole people enjoy your posts. It's great to see your passion for these issues, it certainly has challenged me and has made me consider my opinions on homelessness.

I am looking forward to hearing from you about the key strengths and weakness of the policy and how you would suggest improving it.

I don't think I needed to link the whole document. My point was that I thought it ridiculous that if you are living in a hostel in Leicester you are not classed as living in Leicester and because the time allowed in a hoster has been cut to four months you would not be top priority when you leave so would be homeless. A private landlord would require a deposit so if you do not have the deposit you would have nowhere to go.

I am assuming this may be the same in other towns.

Ignore the links.

If that's the case, that does sound ridiculous. Institutions need to show more common sense and awareness of what other institutions are doing, so that the whole system works logically. The same thing seems to happen repeatedly with these horrible child cruelty/murder cases - time after time, "the lesson needs to be learned that different agencies should communicate and work together"...

On a positive note, our local Big Issue seller changed a few weeks back and the new woman told me that the previous bloke is just completing a few certificates before taking up employment in something linked to tree surgery. With a bit of help and a route out of homelessness, many people can make it, even if some can't.

Yes true. Action Homeless have had their funding cut by 60%. This means loss of jobs. There will be 2 roving support workers covering all the hostels. The residents will have to wait for them if they want help.

Other agengies CAB, housing, money advice work seperately. One of our team said what you posted that there is no communication. Instead of saying we cannot help you here is a leaflet/address of a place that can they just send people away.

DNO is different we advertise all the help Centres as well as give Tenancy and Media Training.

Not sure what is happening yet. We are partly funded by Action Homeless and we have to start being self sufficient by the end of March instead of a year. We have another 2 year lottery bid in which we are hopeful of and we have a chance of a new radio location on FM. It means it being more structured though.

I think AH are happy with us as we can be their voice for when they are gagged later on in the year. As a news agency the rules do not apply.

I will try and find the relevant part of the po;icy. I was in a rush yesterday and never realised it was so long until I got home. Most of it may not apply to what I have posted at this time.

As I've already pointed out though Ken, the very document you are telling us to read completely contradicts what you are saying about it. Which is why you should read things before posting. To get the full facts, ya know
