This is. A link to a PDF document outlining the policy rules to be housed by the council if rough sleeping or in a hostel. It is quite long but you will see it is complex and not just a matter of going to an accommodation and moving in.

Not had time to read it all but from what I was told there are guidelines for if somebody is found rough sleeping. There are  too many to put on here.

One is you have to be from Leicester otherwise you are not counted in the homeless figures. This means the figures given out for those sleeping rough in December and the Xmas period are wrong and much higher. This means they are not priority if not from Leicester. Also single people are way down the list.

With the cuts to hostels the period from hostel to unsupported self sufficient living has been reduced to four months meaning there is not enough time for them to adjust to life on their own.

There are many more issues. The document policy is near on 200 pages. I was only given a briefing.

Sorry if it is not in great detail but to many it would be boring and maybe ignored or disbelieved.

I made a mistake in the heading apologies for that too but I was losing connection and posted before checking as I did not want to rewrite and repost again.

Ken, can you give us the main strengths challenges with the policy?

Do you think it house in Leicester overall? What would you change?

Only told about it today. The page isn't the policy there his game link to a PDF sorry I should have said. Not read it yet.
One rule is that to get a house him Leicester you have to live here two years. Hostels do not count. Unless volunteering.. The max time anyone can stay in a hostel has been reduced to four months.

It's ok, I found the link. I did get a bit bored, hence if you could give us the key strengths and weaknesses that would be great.

Is the maxtime anyone can stay in a hostel one particular hostel or can they move to another hostel? Also, who is paying for the hostel in that time?

What constitutes as volunteering? One or two hours at an old peoples home or 40 hours on a radio station? Does it have to be a council sanctioned volunteer placement?

Ken, aren't you a journalist, and shouldn't journalists be good at proofreading for errors?  Your posts make me stop and think, but only so I can figure out what the hell you meant to type.

I was on a Wifi network that was playing up an I kept losing connection. Sorry I am not perfect. I think the subject is more important than my dodgy connection. Might not be as funny or  unable to take the piss though.

If nobody is going to make sensible replies the mods may as well close the thread.

When you start a thread you are supposed to put an opinion forward on it so people can debate the subject if they want to.

If you arent going to do that and throw in a title that is barely coherent/completely illiterate you won't get much of a response except pisstaking.

Dodgy connection maybe, but you still should check before you post. Might have meant you missed typing the C on City, but doesn't stop you checking it's there before you post it.

Anyway that's irrelevant, you've admitted not even reading what you've linked to before posting it. Why? How can you put something out there if you don't know what it says? Is it really that much of a rush? It's like when you post at 1am then claim you rush it in the dark. Well why post it at 1am then? Could it not wait?

Nobody is asking you to be perfect, none of us are. Just asking you to wind it in on the random thread starting, check what you've put before posting, and at least read what your linking to before you offer it all to us to mull over.

If you're going to post something at least read it first. If you can't be bothered what makes you think the rest of us will be interested?
