TheNPLGroup Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Good afternoon Foxes, it's a pleasure to be on your forum.Firstly let me introduce myself, I'm Bradley Dobson and I run The Northern Premier League Facebook and Twitter account. I am a FC Halifax Town supporter, and I'm also a follower of a Stocksbridge Park Steels where your leading man, Jamie Vardy started his movement in the football ladder,A vast majority won't give a damn about non league football on here, truthfully, you won't right?. You have to see it from our point of view, we need all the support and following we can get. Jamie Vardy started at NPL side Stocksbridge Park Steels and look where he is now. Fair play to Vardz as he is still well in touch with the NPL and Stocksbridge.Non league is the heart of football, it's where most footballers start their journey on the road to the big time, without you as followers and supporters, there wouldn't be no heart best,What I'm posting for is to ask each and every one of you, whether your on Facebook or Twitter, to join us and show your support, you don't have to post or tweet us if you aren't in to non league football, we don't do no spamming or advertising etc, we just want people I back us.Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/TheNPL - http://www.facebook.com/groups/TheNPLTwitter: @TheNPLGroup - http://Twitter: @TheNPLGroupJamie Vardy started his climb in the NPL, and we supported him through the gloomy windy and rainy nights up on a hill in Stocksbridge, please can you, as Football League supporters show some support back, by clicking a button and joining or following. All the best for the rest of the season - FORZA FOXES!

All the best for the rest of the season - FORZA FOXES! Welcome to Foxestalk! I think you'll find that the majority on here do give a damn about non league football. Either play it or know someone who does and as you've said - its the heart and soul of the game. The twitter link isn't working for me. Not sure about the facebook one as I'm at work.
TheNPLGroup Posted 27 February 2014 Author Posted 27 February 2014 That's great to hear just try follow @TheNPLGroup just try Facebook at home. Great to hear the support.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Good luck, and yes, non league football is a large cog in the development of very many well known players, and always has been.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Good luck and welcome! Vardy is immense and possibly my favourite player so I suppose he has come a long way. Good luck mate and all the best
LanguedocFox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Welcome to the madhouse. I think you'll find most people here are interested in non-League, not least because we've played in the same division as several of the sides in the Conference: there but for the grace of god and all that. Pleased to hear that Vardy remains grounded and still maintains his links with his first club: that's the kind of player we like. Personally, I can't stand Facebook but I'll follow you and RT from both of my Twitter accounts.
Dan Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Will do. It's quite cliche to praise non-league but it really is a different sport to the professional game now and it still produces talent.
LCCFox96 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 If non-league keeps turning out hard working talents like Vardy many more people will take it far more seriously and it will get the attention it deserves. Key to many players success imo.
Pegosteve Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 My son watches Stocksbridge and did so whilst Jamie played there. He told me when we signed him he would be a great signing how right he was. Non league football is the roots of football and it is great to see that you can still make it from there. They need support and financial support from the top clubs. I know JV returns to Stocksbridge on a regular basis and he will never forget his roots its where he is from and where his mates are.
Voll Blau Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Fair play to you pal, love a bit of non-league myself. Reckon the chant was probably "Jamie Vardy's having a do, bring your White Ace and your glue" when he was at Stocksbridge though.
astoriafox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Joined the group as know how important it is at first hand. I almost made it to professional level after a very late introduction to football at any sort of level Played a lot of non league and have played against Stocksbridge at your place. Good luck, the sport needs you guys so very much.
Mark_w Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 But isn't non-league football responsible for Beckford as well?I'll need some more convincing.
Vlad the Fox Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 But isn't non-league football responsible for Beckford as well? I'll need some more convincing. Alan smith.
Mark_w Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Alan smith. At my age he's only noteworthy for annoying FIFA commentary I'm afraid.

bluesbrothers Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Been looking for a 2nd club in NL to follow while up here in Sheffield other than Sheffield FC which all the student hipsters pretend to follow. Might drop by Stocksbridge sometime. Only wish there was a rail link, would make it a good deal easier to get there from here since I'm close to the station.
