How Big Is Burnley Away?

FIF.. you really are summat else..

I'll take that as the compliment you clearly intended. :D

This time next week we could have dropped down to second behind Burnley - how annoying would that be ?

If Burnley beat Doncaster and we lose to Yeovil  and Burnley - and can certainly see that happening - so yes this game is massive.

We'll still have a game in hand over Burnley but even so it will be a serious downer to drop down to second.

Pessimists united.

This time next week we could be 11 points clear of Burnley with a game in hand and already clinched promotion. I can certainly see that happening  .

Even if we win our next two promotion isn't actually mathematical until Wigan now is it?

We need 13 more points. So two wins would give us 6 and then the chasing pack lose their next two, meaning we would need a point to secure at Wigan.

Could be less than 13 depending on other results

I'm sorry. If we win our next 2 and the chasing pack lose their next 2. Derby or QPR by winning all their games and us losing all of ours would be able to overtake us on goal difference. So you are right we'd need 1 more point or they'd need to drop 1 more point. Looks like promotion is still very much in the balance then. :)

My point was that's as likely as the doomsday scenario of the post I replied to.

I honestly think Nigel will fire the team up so much for this game. I do think we'll beat Yeovil, which means a win against Burnley would see

us on the edge of the finish line.

All these ifs and buts are really starting to rattle my cage.

Of course it's a big big game it's first v second, the two clear leaders of the league.

I personally think we will beat Yeovil and Burnley will drop points midweek, but even if we and they don't, I'm not worried at all.

My past experiences following Leicester, tell me that I should be, but I'm not.

Why?

Because we're the best team in the league.

Because we have scored more goals than anyone else in the league.

Because we have won more games than anyone else in the league.

We are 17 unbeaten.

We have scored in 20 consecutive games.

I could and probably should go on, but I won't.

Even as fellow Leicester fan's, if you're not confident in this team in this league, this season then I despair!

A draw would be decent against Burnley, a loss would be a disappointment, but not a travesty and a win will be a huge step to the title. No more.

We will both drop points from now till the party and I think the gap between us both and the chasing pack will narrow. But, no more than that.

We will be champions and I for one am enjoying every bloody minute, come on show the faith.

I really want us to end Burnley's unbeaten home run

A lot of people seem very pessimistic. Think about it from a Burnley perspective too: potential banana skin mid week and then home tie against league leaders. A bad week for them could see them closer to 3rd which is much more squeaky bum than our worst possible position Saturday evening.

Think both sides would actually be pretty pleased with a draw but if either team is thinking about this fixture before the midweek one then we could see some upsets mid week.

Surely the lads on Saturday as well as NP will be going to Turf Moor for 3 points?

A draw at Burnley will be a good result!

A win at Burnley would be amazing, IMO we will get the 3 points and will not lose a game whatsoever.

lets consolidate Tuesday night first!!!!

I genuinely think this will be the best game of the season and if both teams play anywhere near their respective potential then it could end up a 2-2 draw in a fabulous end the end flowing game of football.  Or the bloody ref could send someone off early doors and ruin the game

I think this has a draw written all over it. Both teams in decent form, 1st v 2nd, cancelling each other out.

Hope I'm wrong and we get the 3 points :scarf:

This is a huge match for me. I could see us not winning any of the next 3 games which could drag us right back down into the mix and make for a hairy finish.

Was originally going to post much more than this but lost concentration lol

Anyway- big game.

god knows what you foresee next season if you can see us dropping points to Yeovil at home on tuesday

Or we could just win you never know?

We thought we were going to struggle against a very good Derby side who were on a decent run. I know it was at home but we embarrassed them. We won't have it all our own way against Burnley but we are pretty much certain to create chances and just have to be clinical when we get them. Vardy will need to be a little less wasteful than he was against Blackburn.

Burnley's no bigger than any other game in this league. We could lose to them on Saturday, then if we win our next one and they lose theirs, it's back to square one. One game doesn't make or break a season.

It's a tinpot league, it has been for years now, the difference this season is that we've put together a run, got some consistency and when other teams have dropped points we've taken advantage. This is the first year we've not shot ourselves in the foot and in 4 games or so we SHOULD be celebrating promotion.

The team's winning, scoring freely, the players are confident and the defence is sound. Believe.
